Who is that? Is she wearing a boar hide.. and wielding nichirin swords?! Nezuko wondered, staring at the girl in front of her.
"Alright, monster! Come die in battle!" The girl shouted, crossing her two jagged blades in front of her. "I want to get stronger and go even higher, so you are my stepping stone!"
The girl rushed forward, but the drum demon hit one of the drums on his body once more. Teruko yelped as she flipped backwards again and fell flat on her face.
"Teruko! Hold onto the furniture!" Nezuko yelled. Suddenly, the girl's foot smacked the side of her face as she sprinted towards the drum demon again. "The demon has a supernatural ability! Stop attacking it so wildly!"
"Aggravating! Insects in my house!" The drum demon shouted as he hit one of the drums once again. The room rotated, making Nezuko and the girl flip backwards.
The girl stood on Teruko, who was still lying on the ground, and she cackled loudly. "The room spun around! What fun! What fun!"
Nezuko grabbed the girl's shin and flipped her backwards. "Don't go around stepping on people!" She yelled.
"Who are you..?" the girl asked as she landed on her feet.
"What's the big idea of stepping on this little girl?!" Nezuko shouted, hugging Teruko closely, who was shaking as she buried her head into Nezuko's shoulder.
The girl didn't answer, however, and just cackled loudly once more. "Good, good! Nice throwing move! No one has ever thrown me before!" The girl then charged at Nezuko.
Why is she rushing at me? Isn't she in the Demon Slayer Corps? Nezuko wondered as she jumped back just as the girl swung her katanas, still holding Teruko closely.
"My swords bring pain! They aren't like the katana a little girl uses! I'm so proud of their cutting edges that rip and tear!" The girl shouted, attempting to swing at Nezuko and Teruko once again.
"Stop! There's a demon over there!" Nezuko exclaimed, avoiding the girl's katanas.
"What do I care?" The girl replied.
"Insects! Begone! Die!" The drum demon shouted, hitting one of his drums again.
The girl cackled as the tatami shredded into the shape of the demon's claws. "Good, good.." The girl said.
Rotate right! Rotate left! Nezuko thought as the drum demon continued to hit his drums, saying things little 'insects!' and 'damned insects!' I'm starting to figure this out!
The drum demon muttered and murmured to himself as the room changed, yet he didn't hit any of his drums.
Nezuko and Teruko were now in a room with two shelves on ome of the walls as well as a mirror and a wooden table in the centre if the room with two pillows on the floor on either side of the table.
The room changed again! Nezuko realised, looking around the room as Teruko stopped clinging onto her. But what's going on? The demon didn't strike the drum just now! The room smells like a bunch of different demons. Does another demon have a drum? If so.. wait! I smell blood!
"Stay behind me," said Nezuko before walking out the room.
"Okay..."
Nezuko then stepped out of the room, Teruko cautiously following behind her. Nezuko looked to her right and noticed another dead body.
Another body.. she thought, closing her eyes as she grimaced.
"Wha.. what's wrong?" Teruko asked gingerly, small beads of sweat on her left cheek and forehead.
"It's alright. There's no demon. Let's go somewhere else," replied Nezuko. She then ushered Teruko in the opposite direction from the corpse and down the corridor. "Don't look back. Just face straight ahead."
Soon enough, Nezuko could smell blood once again.
I smell another one.. but the blood smells different from any I've ever smelled.. and the amount of blood lost seems small. Nezuko thought. She turned her head to look at Teruko, placing a finger on her (Nezuko, not Teruko) lips and softly shushing her. Teruko nodded.
Nezuko slammed open the door. Sat in the middle of the room, was a young man who looked to be in his early teens, with black hair slightly longer than Shoichi's and hazel brown eyes just like Teruko and Shoichi wearing a persimmon colored haori over his green kimono. He seemed to be holding a tsuzumi in his hands.
....
Kanao wheezed and huffed with sweat dripping all down her face as she shaked and shivered and trembled, holding Shoichi's hand as he walked behind her.
"I'm sorry, Kanao," said Shoichi suddenly, causing Kanao to scream and fall to the ground in shock and fear. She glommed onto him tightly.
"Ya can't just talk all of a sudden like that! Ya gotta give me some kinda signal! My heart nearly jumped outta my mouth!" Kanao replied through gritted teeth, tears falling down her face as she jittered and shook. "If that happened, ya would've been a murderer!! Do you understand that?!"
"Sorry," said Shoichi. "But, it's just.. you're sweating, breathing hard, and shaking so horribly.."
"Cut me some slack! I'm doing my best!" Kanao snapped back, now just gripping onto Shoichi's haori.
"No, I mean, I'm getting worried about you," responded Shoichi.
"Aw, man! Sorry!" Kanao apologised loudly. "But.. but.. if we talk too much, the demon could find us! So I think we should stay very quiet!"
Suddenly, a demon with two stubby horns and a long tongue poking out of its mouth began to slide out from underneath the floor.
"A couple of kids.. probably most agreeable to the tongue," it said.
Kanao's eyes looked like they were about to burst out their sockets. "SEE? WHAT DID I TELL YOU?" She shouted. "LOOK AT THAT! A DEMON SHOWED UP!"
