Hakuji stood among the corpses of his fallen comrades. There was an expressionless look on his face, betraying no emotion, as he stared at a particular corpse; one with a Slayer's own katana piercing his heart.
"Were you acquainted with any of them?" A man behind Hakuji suddenly asked: Doma. There was a smile on his pale face and a certain gleam in his rainbow eyes despite the dire sight before the two. "There don't seek to be any survivors around here," he continued.
"We were informed that several rookie Mizunoto had joined the battle, but do you think they might already be dead?" Doma continued as he stood beside Hakuji, looking around the vicinity.
Hakuji turned his head to look at Doma. "Let's go," was all he said.
....
"Isn't the moon lovely tonight?" Doma asked as he and Hakuji ran through the forest alongside each other. When Hakuji didn't reply, he frowned and said, "Come on, we're already working together. Some idle banter wouldn't kill you."
"I'm only here to slay demons," replied Hakuji bluntly.
"How callous!" Doma exclaimed. "All right. Let's split up here. I shall proceed from the west."
"Agreed."
And with that, Doma leapt high into the sky, leaving Hakuji to run alone in the forest.
....
The father demon landed in the river, water spraying in all directions as Aoi went flying back and landed on a rock.
"Stay away..." The demon began, raising his fist. "...from my FAMILY!" He punched the rock Aoi was stood on, bits of stone and water flying everywhere as Aoi once again went flying back.
The father charged towards her, his fist raised and his other hand outstretched towards her.
Destruction Breathing! Second Form! Boulder of Destruction!
Nezuko leapt into the air, performing a front flip as she released a single vertical slash in a circular motion, the blade of Nezuko's katana colliding with the father demon's arm.
She let out a yell as her blade refused to cut through the demon's arm, his skin thicker than any demon's Nezuko had encountered, but she didn't give up.
"No way!" Nezuko exclaimed as her katana remained wedged in the father's arm. "My blade won't cut through!"
Suddenly, the demon's spare fist came flying towards her, but was quickly stopped by Aoi's dual swords. However, she had just as much trouble cutting through the demon's fist as Nezuko.
"That's damn tough!" Aoi shouted, frustration bubbling within her as the father demon let out a deafening roar and shoved the two off of him.
"My attack didn't even leave a scratch!" Nezuko said to herself as she landed on one of the rocks in the river. "What should I do?"
"Stay away..." The father began, rushing towards Nezuko with a pure intent to kill. "FROM MY FAMILY!"
The demon crushed the rock with unbelievable strength, causing Nezuko to fly into the air. Fortunately, she safely landed on the riverbank, unscathed.
The father demon looked in Nezuko's direction, about to run towards her and attack before Aoi began to yell once again.
"What're you looking at?!" She demanded. "I'm over here!" High in the air, amidst the foggy night sky, was Aoi with both of her katanas raised. "EAT SHIT!"
Aoi, however, couldn't land a single strike on the father as he whacked her away, causing her to go flying back into the river, her body lying face first in the water.
