"TANJIROU-KUUUUUUUUN!!!" Kanao screeched, panting blatantly. "TANJIROU-KUN! Where are you?"
Kanao let out a sob as she sat on the forest floor, wiping the tears that were running down her face like a waterfall. "Tanjirou-kun.. Nezuko.. Wild Boar.. Chuntarou! Where did everyone go?"
She continued to wipe away her tears as she cried. "I'm sorry about everything, okay?"
Suddenly, a chirp could be heard, and Kanao felt something, or perhaps a bird, on her head.
"Chuntarou!" She exclaimed, her eyes looking up at the male sparrow, who jerked his head away from Kanao angrily. "YOU MEAN YOU CAME AFTER ME?" Kanao wailed, hugging Chuntarou closely as she cried. "YOU'RE SO ADORABLE! SECOND TO TANJIROU-KUN BUT STILL!"
"I'M SORRY FOR EVERYTHING!" Kanao continued to bawl as Chuntarou chirped and tried to escape from Kanao. "ALL RIGHT, LET'S GO LOOK FOR TANJIROU-KUN TOGETHER!"
....
Aoi cackled, pointing at the tangled up Slayer. "Look at that! Check it out! I've tossed up more than you!"
"Right! One more to go!" Nezuko replied, her hands grasping her sword firmly.
"Okay. I'm gonna do it one more time , so keep a close eye this time!" Aoi stated, approaching the Slayer confidently.
"You got it! Go get em!" Nezuko said. "Just try not to be too rough!"
....
"I don't need these fragile human puppets anymore!" Kiyo shouted, her impatience and anger almost at its peak. "They're useless!" She shifted her hands once more. "Absolutely USELESS!"
The moment her hand pulled at the silk, it twisted the remaining Slayer's head, snapping his neck and causing Nezuko to gasp in horror. Ozaki and the other surviving Slayer's necks were also snapped as their heads were twisted by the silk.
Nobody spoke in that moment. The only sound that could be heard was the blood dripping from the Slayers' wounds and the gentle yet ominous breeze in the air. It remained like that up until Aoi let out a yell.
"Shit! They're all dead now!" She exclaimed.
Nezuko approached the Slayer in front of them, who was kneeling on the ground with his head hung low, and crouched down in front of him. She didn't move nor say anything as she remained there, her hair blowing in the cold air.
Her expression couldn't be seen in that moment, but something about the way she was just crouching in front of the Slayer in complete silence sent a shiver down Aoi's spine; the fury Nezuko was feeling in that moment was like a dormant volcano.
Nezuko stood up, not even looking back at Aoi. "Let's go."
"Yeah.." Aoi replied, still feeling a bit uneasy.
....
The duo ran through the forest; a determined look on Nezuko's face whilst Aoi's was simply covered by her boar mask.
"This way! We're startin' to get real close!" Aoi said as they ran.
Nezuko didn't respond as she thought. Now that the wind's changed direction, I can pick up scents properly now! I can pinpoint the demon's location now! There's two scents left now! There!
"Aoi!" Nezuko shouted.
"I sensed that thing way before you did!" Aoi replied matter-of-factly, most likely rolling her eyes from beneath her boar mask. "I'mma chop its head clean off!"
With a loud yell, Aoi leapt into the air towards the figure before them, her swords raised. However, the figure seemed to have blades for hands as it blocked Aoi's impulsive attack with ease.
