The faint beeping of the monitors was the first thing Jungkook registered as he stirred awake. His eyelids felt heavy, his body sluggish, but the Eww scent of the hospital brought clarity to his senses. He blinked a few times, his gaze focusing on the white walls and the faint sunlight streaming through the curtains.

The hospital?

Memories of the college flashed in his mind-the exhaustion, the fever, and... Tae. His heart raced as the thought hit him. Had Taehyung left His heart clenched at the thought.

Jungkook's eyes moved around the empty room, panic bubbling in his chest. The chair beside his bed was empty, the room quiet except for the sound of the beep of the monitor. Did he leave? Did he... walk away again? The thought tightened his throat, and he stand up hurriedly, despite the headache and the sharp protest from his aching muscles.

"Tae?" he voiced, his voice hoarse and barely audible. His mind raced, the fear gripping him. Please don't ignore me. Please don't do this again.

Just as he was about to leave the bed, the door creaked open. Jungkook froze, his breath catching as taehyung stepped into the room, holding a bottle of water and a small bag of snacks. Their eyes met, and for a split second, Jungkook didn't move, afraid it was his imagination.

"Tae," he whispered, his voice trembling.

Taehyung blinked, startled by the urgency in Jungkook's voice. Before he could speak, Jungkook surged forward, pulling him into a tight hug. The sudden movement made taehyung drop the bag, but he didn't care. Jungkook's arms were strong despite his weakened state, and his grip trembled as if he were holding onto his lifeline.

"Don't l-leave," Jungkook whispered, his voice cracking. "Please, Tae, don't leave me. Don't... don't go."

Taehyung's chest ached at the raw desperation in Jungkook's voice. He wrapped his arms around him, gently rubbing his back. "I'm not leaving," he murmured softly. "I'm here. I won't leave you."

Jungkook buried his face in Taehyung's shoulder, his body trembling slightly. " I thought-" His words broke off into a shaky breath.

Taehyung pulled back just enough to cup Jungkook's face, his thumb brushing against his cheek. "I'm here," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I won't leave now."

Jungkook stared at him, his eyes shining with unshed tears. "Promise?"

"I promise," Taehyung said firmly, his voice steady despite the ache in his chest. It's rarely when Jungkook's vulnerable side is seen, and everytima the reason is him. He has always hurted jungkook, knowingly - unknowingly he had broke something which was meant to be treasured. "Now, come on. You need to rest."

He guided Jungkook back to the bed, helping him settle against the pillows. Jungkook's eyes never left him, watching every move as if he were afraid Taehyung might disappear if he blinked.

"Here, drink some water," Taehyung said, opening the bottle and handing it to him. Jungkook took a sip, his fingers brushing against Taehyung's as he held the bottle.

Taehyung bend adjusting the blankets to make sure Jungkook was comfortable. As he turned to pick up the fallen bag of snacks, Jungkook suddenly reached out, grabbing his wrist.

"Tae," Jungkook whispered, his voice soft but insistent.

Taehyung turned back to him, his heart clenching at the vulnerability in Jungkook's eyes. Before he could say anything, Jungkook pulled him closer, wrapping his arms around tae once again. This time, the embrace was softer, quieter, but no less intense.
