"Let us out!"

"I don't want to be here!"

"I want to be me!"

Whatever it was, everything was hazy. It felt like I was looking through someone else's eyes. Suddenly against my will, I looked down at my hands-

They weren't the usual pair, but it was more than two, than four.

When I looked up at the mirror,

I was hideous. My face was contorted- with somebody else's.

.
.
.

I flinched when I was pulled out of my nightmare.

"Goodmorning chickpea. Or should I say, good afternoon?" A teasing voice breaks my slumber, my eyes fluttered open and it took me a few seconds to register the face Infront of me.

Hawks.

"I- how did you get in here..?" I mumbled sitting up on the bed, rubbing my eyes.

"Brunch is right around the corner, coming downstairs?" He pulled the sheets off of me and I hissed,

"Stop..." I groaned and the smug grin on his face faltered for a second.

"Hey, don't be grumpy! All you've been eating are unhealthy food. It's time you get a full proper meal. Now get washed up." His feathers pulled me out of bed and brought me to the bathroom.

I was a bit grumpy, and I turned on the faucet starting to wash my face to freshen up.

When I finally looked up at the mirror to check myself out, I paused. For some odd reason, I felt nauseous to see my own reflection.

'That dream... What was that..?'

I touched my cheek for some sort of reassurance, for comfort. I bit my lip, my mind soon started to wonder.

'Eugene...'

And then I froze,

'Dabi. Where has he been?'

My trail of thoughts were interrupted when I heard a loud knock on the bathroom door: "Earth to L/n? You still in there? Don't tell me you fell asleep." I heard from the other side.

"I'm okay! Just wiping my face!" I quickly dried my face and made sure my hair was styled in a way it wasn't an eye sore and I headed out.

"Took you long enough.."

.

Hawks and I headed down and sat in the dining area and gave our orders, what was left now was to simply wait.
I really wanted to speak my mind, but I felt shy. And at any point I knew Hawks would pick up on it.

"Are you okay?" He softly asked, genuinely concerned.

"Y-Yeah..." I responded timidly, playing with the hem of my shirt.

'Please ask me to talk to you.. it's too embarrassing to do it myself..' I quietly begged internally in my head. Hoping he would pick up the almost none existing hint.

"You look like you want to talk, everything alright in there partner?" Hawks leaned on the table, with that same gentle look in his eyes when I fell apart.

"It's just that... It's almost a week, and we still haven't found him. What if Eugene's gone by now?" I whispered the last part, hugging my arms. Hawks stayed silent on the other side.

It was a few minutes before he finally spoke to break the silence.

"Have hope, he's still out there. I'm sure he's fighting back too. I'm honestly worried for his outcome, but we can do this."
