The scent of freshly brewed coffee entered my lungs, disrupting my peaceful slumber. I fluttered my eyes open in pure curiosity to find Dabi trying to place a mug on my bedside table as quiet as possible. Glancing at his face which looked so on edge, carefulness laced on his expression. His worriness drew a small smile from my lips and he winced his head immediately snapping towards me.

"You're awake- Must have been too loud, my bad." he shyly scratched the back of his head, settling onto the floor after placing the mug down. I looked at him drowsily, no motivation or drive to get up from bed. "This morning one of your neighbours knocked on the door, I guess they were looking for you.." he mumbled his eyes making its way to mine.

I hummed, "Did you answer? Must be my landlord... I haven't paid my bills yet...." the last part left my mouth unconciously, and then-it registered.

My upper body hastily shot up in a frantic realization; "Shit! My bills! I forgot!" I groaned rushing to get up whilst Dabi looked at me dumbfounded. "You going out?" he asked with a tone I couldn't describe, but it sounded hesitant.

"Yeah- Damn it responsibilities suck-"

"I know you're not in good terms with him... but.. he already paid for it.." Dabi's voice trailed off, and it was my turn to look at him puzzled. My brows furrowed for a moment and I paused my feet, turning to look at him. I noticed he was trying to hide his hands, that fiddled and fidgeted.

"Who did?" my eyebrow raised, crossing my arms in a half-half feeling of curiosity, but deep down I felt like I knew who paid them, just a little whisper from my intuition. "Hawks did."

Yeah.. I was right, I sighed and then leaned on the wall behind me. I frowned when I remembered that these two are connected, and must communicate time to time. I always feel a little tug on my heart when I remember that they both were in on it, and hid it from me.

But atleast-Dabi tried. I shook my head and ultimately my muscles relaxed. Man, if it weren't for Hawks I would be running around like a headless chicken here. Somehow a sad chuckle left me, "Well... gives more time for chilling." my knees buckled and my back slid down the wall, I plopped unto the floor.

"Could you... please take a look at the kitchen? I kinda attempted to make breakfast..."

Something about that didn't feel right...

-

I was right.

Leave the burnt eggs and somehow burnt rice, what about the ceiling? I'm pretty sure I see some dark marks on the ceiling that used to be a clear white. That pan used to be a clear metal, supporting a charming shine-now its just completely black.

"This is fine?" a delusional sentence left my mouth immediately

The whole ordeal was so horrible, that I couldn't even tear up or cry from the frustration of cleaning up this mess; a lot of things ran through my mind. I swore from the corner of my eye Dabi kind of hung his head low for a second but he sprung back up. Though this time the expression of his face was rather nervous, and the look I know very well-fear.

So instead...

"Pffft-"

"Huh?" a faint, confused sound left Dabi, he looked at me as if I was a madwoman, he tilted his head in pure confusion-but he wasn't complaining, he'd rather have this than face the wrath of a woman. At this point, I broke out into full blown laughter.

I wasn't sure what was happening, but as I laughed, I felt my eyes sting.

"HAHAHAHAHA-! Are you serious?! This is hilarious-!" I clutched my stomach and sunk to the floor on my knees laughing my heart out. Dabi looked at me in plain guilt, I turned to face him and pointed at the ceiling in pure bliss-"Look at that! Thats smaller than my first attempt at cooking! Goodjob!" my feet stood up and I stumbled towards Dabi placing a lazy arm around his shoulders.
