Everyone had ran for their lives, bolted out of the exit as soon as the barrier shattered. The gates had opened but the glass wall that separated us from eachother had already taken severe damage.

My breathe hitched as their eyes was on mine for a second.

It bellowed, twitched it's head and would turn to observe the room. A clicking sound leaving it's throat and sending shivers down my spine.

My legs furiously shook underneath me and my breathe was knocked out of my chest when I felt a strong arm pull me out of my trance. I quickly glanced over at who and held on—despite who it was.

Dabi clenched his teeth and swung me over his back startling me.

"What are you doing you idiot?! Put me down this instant!" I smacked his back rapidly demanding to be put down. Dabi hissed and almost yelled; "This is a life or death situation! You let it roam wild!".

"You said I could go wild!" I huffed and he scoffed at me in return—"Yeah with intelligence not carelessness!" The ravenette scolded with a gruff.

In a haste I was able to get off of him, and I immediately ran from where I stood leaving him behind escaping his grasp. Dabi looked surprise for a moment before I ran off.

"Y/n?!?!"

"I'm going back! Don't stop me on this!"

As I ran down this deep hallway, the lights turned red and the alarms would blare piercing my ears and at the same time I could hear my heartbeat pounding—almost on the verge of jumping out of my ribcage.

My breathe was ragged as my legs moved with purpose and I was finally nearing back to where chaos made itself known.

As I got closer and closer the voices, the shrieks and screams grew louder and louder with every step I took.

'Im coming! Just hang on!' a tear escapes my eye.

You must be in so much pain.

.
.

"Eugene!" I called to the creature with hope and it snapped it's head towards me, twitching furiously. But it looked at me so curiously; it started coming a little closer.

I was immediately alerted when it's body started acting in ways it was questionable, it'd grab anything it would see and wont let go.

"Hello..?" I whispered, voice faint.

"!!!!!!"

"PL⃫  E⃫  A⃫  S⃫  E⃫   E⃫  N⃫  D⃫   I⃫  T⃫  —I⃫   D⃫  O⃫  N⃫  T⃫   W⃫  A⃫  N⃫  T⃫   T⃫  O⃫   A⃫  N⃫  Y⃫  M⃫  O⃫  R⃫  E⃫  .

They wailed, and cried so much that it's tears fell on the floor, my heart ached. My ears were slowly starting to bleed from just how loud they cried.

"Y/N!" I snapped my head towards the shout and noticed Dabi running towards us.. with a few men chasing him. He grunted and blasted a wall of fire at them and I quickly turned my eyes away from the scene.

"Come on, I can't leave you behind." Dabi panted holding my hand—"I can't leave Eugene behind- I can't."

He narrowed his eyes at me for a moment.

"Eugene isn't here anymore he's d- GET BACK!" he shoved me behind him roughly- I felt the the room get hotter and evidently harder to breathe in, when I squinted my eyes open I realised that he was using his quirk.

And I definitely heard them scream louder.

"STOP! They're already in pain!"

They squirmed violently thrashing around before crawling away back to where it came from, but broke the drain on the floor and slipped through. Nowhere to be seen.

I realised if I don't act now, It may be crucial.

"We don't have to follow them-"

.

I didn't let him finish, I blasted off from where I was standing and raced to the drainage and jumped in despite of how disgusting it may seem.

The water was slimy as expected and a bit dirty but quite manageable. In the distance I could hear that faint shriek and I bended the stream to move even faster.

After a few meters I finally reached them, my eyes glimmered with hope when I saw them standing still.

"You're still in there right...?" I hesitantly reached out, the locket dangling in my hand.

.

I was scared half to death when I felt a sharp rumble right beside where I stood in the water. Their arm right next to me and their first buried next to where my feet were.

And since we were so close to eachother.

I could see, that there was no color, no remnance of a human being.

There was nothing.

It drew it's arm back and lifted it's other arm to hit me again, but I moved first bending an appendage of water to hold it's arm back in a rush. Fear enveloped my entire being as I watched it squirm in its place, freeing itself. I lost my balance and fell back manipulating a shield of water around my figure before it was too late.

They belowed again, and turned to the approaching light of the tunnel. I panicked remembering we were in the sewage pipes, the other end must let out to the ocean. I grunted getting up running after the disfigured beast. When I looked down I noticed the water that rushed passed it turned into an icky color, a dark red.

"Eugene! Come back!" I cried bending the water to push them back towards my direction, to stop it from heading to the end.

"Enough!" Tears fell from my eyes, noticing the water that even I bended was turning a darkened color, the same happened for the rest. I choked out a sob fighting against their strength. I tugged on their whole weight feeling my shoulders start to ache—my eyes stung as the wind blew past the both of us.

The end of the tunnel just a few meters away; Eugene just a few centimeters away from slipping through my fingers again.

Two arms snaked around my waist, I quickly turned my neck to look at who. "Dabi- You can't be here! You'll get hurt!" I shouted and he shook his head, I felt his weight pull me back which took the burden of pulling on my own away.

I felt so tired, and everything was slipping away. My body burned and I felt so dehydrated, "Let go."

His voice whispered into my ear, gently. His hands slowly trailed up my arms and held my hands, lacing his fingers with mine. "I can't... Everything that I have worked for.." I sniffled, the light nearing—I was faced with the beast's silhoutte.

"Let them rest."

I finally let go, my work in vain.

I watched as they destroyed themselves, their body beaten and swollen. The way they would limp towards the light, and I saw their body disappear and fall into the ocean at the other side.

I followed hastily to the edge holding Dabi's hand searching in the distant waters. I could no longer see their remains, and I assume that they've already disintegrated their bodies to become one with the ocean, letting the waters take them as they please.

His life flashed before my eyes.

.
.
.

The sun took me away, the light burning my damaged skin and reducing me into nothing but ashes. The way the wind felt against me a few seconds before I fell into the waters. It'll take me anywhere as I please—And i'll be in peace. Knowing that I atleast have something that is of me, and not of others.

The locket which had a part of me, and I held it close to myself.

I choose to be here, in the depths of the ocean; where i'll continue to dream about the life I never finished.

In that dream,

Where I played in a garden with my friends—where I wove flowers into crowns. My best friend next to me as it should always be. Laughter dances around the garden like a soft melody. My hands are full of color. Tonight when I go to sleep, I'll be counting sheep with my friends until we fall into slumber.

Together.
