Telling Stefan

Elena's POV
I sat in my car holding the ultrasound pictures I just got developed.I could easily see my sick little babies.How am I supposed to sit back and lose two of them?I sent the kids with Bonnie for the weekend so Stefan and I could have some alone time.

We ended up ordering take out.We were eating in the quiet living room.It was so nice to have silence and just being comfortable in Stefan's but I know I have to tell him.I set my take out box and I took his from his hand and I laid them both on the coffee table.I then took hold of his hands and look at him in his beautiful eyes.

"Stefan I need to tell you something that really is hard to say.What I'm going to tell you is really serious and I need you to listen to me."He looked at me with a very worried look but didn't say a word.

"Stefan,I'm pregnant with triplets,"His face lit up with the biggest smile."But two of them are severely sick and will not survive.I go Monday to get a procedure done to get them out so they don't hurt the other baby."I started sobbing,"A-and I-I don't k-know what we-e're going to do-o."I looked at his face and he had tears streaming down his face as well.

He wrapped his arms around me and sobbed into my neck."It's going to be okay.I guess we are only meant to have 3 babies.I'll tell the family and you just worry about keeping your strength for after the procedure."He unwounded his arms from mine and I wiped away some tears that were on his face.

We went to lie down in the bedroom and we just stayed in each other's embrace for the rest of the night.

Stefan's POV
After Elena told me the news I tried to hold myself together but I just couldn't.After she fell asleep I ran out to the woods and punching down innocent trees.Why did my children have to be sick?Why can't we have a normal pregnancy?What am I going to do?I have two one year olds and another on the way.I just hope I can parent all of them correctly and they'll be happy.
