Stefan and Elena "The News"

Going Home

Stefan's POV
Elena finally has gotten 5 minutes of sleep in the past 6 hours of her being back in the room.She said she feels sore and she needs to sleep on her side but she has stitches on both.I hope she can get some sleep whenever we get home.Her and Ella will be released tomorrow afternoon.That will be wonderful.Bonnie was released early yesterday and her and Jeremy were finishing up the nurseries tonight.I hope they look okay and everything goes as planned and we can just enjoy some 'normal' time with our family.

I turned the lights out in Elena's room when she fell into a deep sleep at a quarter to 1.I kissed her head and then walked into Ella's on the floor below.I found Damon laying awkwardly on a tiny couch in the room, with little Aiden crawling off of him into the floor.I quickly grabbed him and walked to the recliner.

So many things are running thru my mind right now.Elena will be 18 in two weeks and we already have two wonderful kids and this family has gone thru two different sets of cancer and soo much more.I looked down to find little Aiden asleep.I kissed his little hands that were wrapped around my fingers and whispered,"Just you wait,I'm going to marry your mother."

Bonnie's POV

Today was the day the 'Salvatore Family' would be coming home.I am so happy they will be able to come home to a familiar environment with everything that has happened in the last few months.Even what happened to me a few days ago took a lot out off me but, I guess it is because I really don't remember what happened.

"Bonnie!They're Here!"Jeremy yelled up the stairs.I finished putting diapers in the dresser and ran down the stairs.

I heard the front door start to open just as I reached the bottom step.I looked at the door to see Damon carrying two car seats while Stefan was carrying Elena in his arms.I felt so happy because they were both smiling and laughing in their embrace.No matter the circumstances, they always seem to love each like it was their first meeting.

Two hours later

Stefan's POV

We were all sitting around in the living room with Chinese take out sitting on the table.We were just talking about memories and funny stories of family members and events.

"Then Elena just fell into the ocean without a life jacket or anything.Dad had to throw out all his fish to get the rope to get her out.Fifty pounds of fish had to be thrown out.She had to get up at the crack of dawn every morning to fish out at least half of that."Jeremy was telling Bonnie they both seemed so happy with each other.They were smiling and laughing with Aiden and Ella in their arms.Damon was finishing up his 6th cup of booze.Elena was just smiling while listening into Jeremy's story.

I stood up and realized now was the best time than ever.I turned to face everyone.

"Okay, I need everyone's attention."

I took a deep breath and faced Elena who was sitting on the couch.I took the ring box out of my pocket, that held my mother's ring,and knelt down on one knee and showed the ring to Elena.

"Elena,I have and will always love you.We have two amazing children together.We have already been thru thick and thin and sicknesses and health especially in the last year.Will you let us make it official and marry me?"
