Stefan and Elena "The News"

Surgery

Stefan's POV
It was time.Time to see if my little princess would be cancer free or at least live.Two nurses had walked into the room, ruining our family's peace of mind.Elena saw the nurses and looked up at me with worried eyes.

"Stefan,what's wrong with Ella?"

My heart dropped.I would have to tell the entire reason of my existence that her daughter she just met had cancer.I handed Damon Aiden and looked down at the petite baby girl in Elena's arms.

"Sh-She has Leukemia.She has to go into surgery to get a tube in her body, so she can endure chemo."

I looked up at Elena's pain stricken face and my heart broke.She looked down at Ella,kissed her forehead and broke down in tears.I very carefully took Ella,hugged her close and gave her to one of the nurses.

The two nurses walked out of the room with Damon and Aiden following .I really wanted to follow the nurses until they got to the operating room, but I had to be with Elena.

Elena was crying hysterically into my button up shirt.She wrapped her arms around my neck and her wails filled the air.Dr.Drinxcail ran into the room with two nurses.I was being shoved out but I was to worried to notice by who.The last thing I saw was a nurse putting an oxygen mask on Elena's face.

When I finally figured out where I was,I took a breath.I looked around and saw a clock on the wall 3:56.Ten more minutes and Ella would be getting out of surgery.I was sitting in a red plastic chair and Bonnie,with Aiden in her hands, was sitting next to me.She looked up at me.

"Damon had dragged you from Elena's room and sat you here.You had been clutching on to your head.I thought you were getting ready to pull it off."

I knew why.I was so worried that two of the most important people of my life were breaking down in front of me.

"H-how's Elena?"I barely could ask.I was scared of the reply.

"She was given some sedatives to knock her out.Jeremy is with her now and Damon compelled the nurses to do everything they can to make sure she is okay."

I was forgetting stuff quickly, I must be getting to stressed.I had to be strong for the girls.I looked down at the sweet,little,dimple-faced baby in Bonnie's arms.I reached for him and his face lit up.Bonnie handed him to me and left without a word.

I just sat and embraced the sweet aura that was Aiden.I was so happy to have a precious baby like him to keep me calm in the darkest moments.

What seemed like seconds but we're actually minutes,Dr.Drinxcail came out in her blue operating scrubs.I hope she's bearing good news.I felt Damon grab Aiden from my arms, from where he came from.

"Stefan,Ella is being moved to recovery.She will receive chemo tommorow.By this time next week she should be cancer free."She gave me a smile and went over to the recovery room.

The next thing I remember is being pushed into a room.Elena's room.Elena was asleep but she didn't look peaceful.There was wires coming and going from everywhere.Some were wrapped around her brother's hand that was enclosed in hers.

Jeremy was on Elena's right,sleeping or should I say snoring.Jenna was on Elena's left,looking out a window and talking to a guy she had met recently.The only problem with this picture was I don't know how I got here.I felt two elderly police officers and Dr.Drinxcail come in the door.Jenna and I turned to look at them.What they said made Jenna drop to her knees and cry.I could see what they said but I don't know the words.
