Prologue

Amelia Earhart was the only child of the late Penelope and Thomas Earhart. Unfortunately at the age of seven, Lady Penelope died in childbirth, the baby along with her.

So for the past ten years Amelia had been alone with a distant father, surrounded by maids and servants.

She was afraid of marriage, she didn't like the thought of it. Never wanted to marry, didn't want to end up like her mother.

The family Estate and business thrived, for the ten years but unfortunately Lord Thomas made a bad investment. The company's money was decreasing rapidly and Thomas needed to think of Amelia's future.

King George the third of England and Ireland, Duke of Lithuania, had no intention of marrying but his mother Princess Augusta persuaded him and made him see the better of things

But George had one condition, he wanted to marry someone of another country entirely. So looking upon the fine ladies in North America, Augusta found the perfect wife, Amelia.

So two days later she sent a letter to Lord Earhart requesting a betrothal, something he could never refuse, not if he wanted his daughter to have a better life.
