I finally reached the office and made my way towards Mr. Kim's cabin. Knocking lightly, I waited for his usual command to enter. As I stepped inside, I handed over the coffee, trying to mask my irritation. "Here's your coffee, Mr. Kim," I said, my tone laced with forced politeness.
He accepted the cup, barely sparing it a glance before commenting, "Why is it cold and bitter?" My frustration bubbled up, but I managed to maintain my composure. "Because while coming over here I just slipped some poison in it," I said with a hint of sarcasm.
Mr. Kim's glare intensified, and he curtly dismissed the coffee. "Well, if you find this amusing, then I don't want it. Dispose of it and leave," he commanded, his tone dripping with disdain.
I felt a surge of anger at his dismissive attitude. "I literally went out of my way to get this coffee for you, and now you're fucking refusing it?" I retorted, my voice tinged with frustration.
His expression hardened, and he issued a warning, "Ms. Min, mind your tongue. Don't forget who you're speaking to. I am your boss, and I can assign you any task I see fit, and you cannot refuse."
Taking a deep breath to calm myself, I realized arguing further would only escalate the situation. "If you don't want it, Mr. Kim, that's fine. I'll throw it away," I replied tersely, turning on my heel and exiting his cabin.
Placing the unwanted coffee on my desk, I redirected my focus to the task Mr. Jin had assigned me earlier, determined not to let Mr. Kim's attitude derail my day.
As I worked diligently, I found myself absentmindedly sipping on the cold coffee that Mr. Kim had rejected. The bitter taste matched the frustration simmering within me, but I pressed on, determined to complete my tasks.
After some time, Mr. Jin finally arrived. I watched him enter the cabin, his expression a mix of curiosity and mild annoyance. "Ms. Y/N, where were you all this time?" he inquired, his tone slightly stern but not overly so.
Feeling guilty for not informing him earlier, I quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, Mr. Jin. I had to go to a cafe to fetch coffee for Mr. Kim as he requested."
He seemed understanding but still questioned, "Why didn't you inform me?"
I explained, "I waited for you, but Mr. Kim said he needed it urgently, so I had to leave without informing you."
Mr. Jin's expression softened, and he nodded in understanding. "Alright, no problem. I see you've resumed your work. It's good to know that you're passionate about your work," he remarked, offering a reassuring smile.
Relieved that he wasn't upset with me, I returned to my tasks, focusing on completing them efficiently. After a while, I finished my work and approached Mr. Jin, presenting my completed tasks on my laptop. He carefully reviewed my work, his expression shifting to one of approval. "You're indeed very good at this, Ms. Y/N," he commended.
Grateful for his praise, I thanked him sincerely. Unbeknownst to me, Mr. Kim had been observing our interaction from outside the cabin, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease, sensing his disapproval of my success.
Author's POV-
As Y/N eagerly showed her work to Mr. Jin on her laptop, unbeknownst to them, Taehyung lurked outside their slightly ajar door, watching with simmering rage. The sight of them smiling and Mr. Jin praising Y/N's work ignited a fiery fury within Taehyung that he struggled to contain.
Unable to bear the scene any longer, Taehyung stormed into his cabin, his footsteps echoing with an ominous intensity. His heart pounded with anger as he paced the room, searching for an outlet for his boiling emotions. His eyes fell upon a vase sitting innocently on his desk, and without a second thought, he seized it and hurled it to the ground in a violent crash.
