Author's POV-

As Y/n entered the sleek and modern lobby of Kim Industries, she felt a surge of nervous energy coursing through her veins. Clutching the envelope tightly in her hand, she approached the reception desk with determined steps.

"Excuse me, is Ms. Sophia available?" she inquired, her voice betraying a hint of apprehension.

The receptionist glanced up from her computer screen and offered a polite smile. "Yes, Ms. Sophia is in today. You can meet her in her cabin," she replied, gesturing towards the elevators.

With a nod of gratitude, Y/n made her way to the elevator and pressed the button for the designated floor. As the elevator ascended, her mind raced with thoughts of what lay ahead. She steeled herself for the meeting, knowing that her decision would have significant implications for her future.

As Y/n entered Ms. Sophia's cabin and caught sight of Mr. Kim seated there, her heart sank. She had hoped to avoid any interaction with him, but fate seemed to have other plans. Clenching her fists to steady her nerves, she approached Ms. Sophia's desk with determination.

"Ms. Sophia, I want to give this resignation letter. I cannot work here anymore," she stated firmly, holding out an envelope containing her letter of resignation.

Ms. Sophia accepted the letter with a concerned expression, while Mr. Kim observed with a smirk playing on his lips. Y/n felt a surge of frustration at his presence, but she remained composed.

"I hope you remember the contract. You have to pay compensation fees," Ms. Sophia reminded her, glancing briefly at Mr. Kim.

Mr. Kim interjected with a smirk, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "I think she conveniently forgot about that," he remarked, his eyes gleaming with malice as he sought to undermine Y/n's integrity.

Y/n met Mr. Kim's smug gaze head-on. "I didn't forget about it, Mr. Kim. I very well remember it, and I am ready to pay the amount in instalments," she declared, her voice unwavering.

Mr. Kim scoffed at her proposal. "What do you think this office is? A purchase store where you can buy something in instalments?" he sneered, his tone dripping with condescension.

Undeterred, Y/n stood her ground. "I don't have that much amount at present, but I will return the fees as soon as possible," she asserted, refusing to back down. Ms. Sophia glanced at Mr. Kim, who nodded in agreement with her decision. His silent approval served as a subtle confirmation of the course of action they were about to take.

Ms. Sophia intervened, her tone more sympathetic. "Okay, Ms. Y/n, you can pay us the amount in instalments. You were a hardworking and sincere employee. I will handle the paperwork, but it may take some time. Most of the staff, including me, are currently occupied with Mr. Smith's project," she explained.

Y/n nodded in understanding. "That's okay, no problem," she replied, relieved that her request was met with some leniency.

With determination in her heart, she left the building and drove towards the location Jungkook had instructed her to come to. The memory of her conversation with Jungkook earlier that day playing vividly in her mind.

In the flashback, Jungkook's voice resonated in her mind, filled with concern and determination.

"Are you sure about this, Y/n?" he asked, his tone laced with worry.

Y/n's voice held a firm resolve as she responded, "Yes, Jungkook. Anything for my oppa."

Jungkook took a deep breath, processing her words. "Okay, then. I'll arrange everything today. It might not be the grand wedding you've always dreamed of, especially with such short notice, but I'll do my best. I have contacts who can help. I'll make sure your wedding dress is perfect, and we can make any last-minute alterations just before the ceremony if needed."
