Forgotten memories (L Lawliet x reader)

Second Kira #8

It had been a few more days since you had that conversation with Light. You were certain Light is Kira, but you didn't know if you should tell anyone yet.

Right now you were at the task force when Watari called L and told him to urgently turn on the TV. Matsuda rushed to turn on the TV and as instructed by L, he moved to channel 8. Everyone was shocked to see that a new Kira had emerged.

You all watched intently while changing the channels as instructed by the second Kira. This Kira was killing news anchors to prove that they possess the same powers as the original Kira if not more. This Kira seemed to worship the original Kira as they kept talking about how they want to meet the original Kira.

Something however caught everyone's attention. The second Kira mentioned something about showing each other their 𝘚𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘪 which meant god of death in Japanese.

The word 'Shinigami' set you off, you started feeling a little dizzy but you brushed it off. Everyone was too busy panicking, you knew for a fact Light had no connection to the second Kira, it was written all over his face.

Everyone was now seriously examining the tapes sent in by the second Kira. L suggested that we make a fake response from the original Kira to blow the second Kira's cover.

"Light I want you to be our fake Kira and prepare a response to broadcast for the second Kira" L said as he kept examining the tapes closely.

Light seemed like he didn't want to but went to work almost immediately. You knew Light already had a full blown response ready but he was just killing time to make it seem like he's thinking from Kira's perspective.

You sit next to L, almost zoning out when you feel a burning gaze on you. You look over and notice that Light was staring at you intently. Honestly at this point you didn't mind dying. You knew Light was scared that you may tell L about your interactions with Light however you weren't going to do that, not yet.

"Miss (Y/n) would you mind collecting the notes for me?" L asked you while his eyes were still fixated on whatever notes he was typing up.

"Sure Ryuzaki" you say as you get up and collect the notes as L said and bring them back to him.

After what seemed like an hour, Light finally spoke up as he stretched.

"Ryuzaki I'm done typing up the response" he said as he brought a printed copy of what he wrote over to L.

L held the paper with his both hands using his index finger and thumb as he carefully read through the paper.

"This is perfect Light. It seems as if Kira himself wrote this" L said a little sarcastically as you tried your best to hold your laughter.

"Ryuzaki you can't be accusing my son again!" Your father yelled from the distance so he could be heard.

You looked over at Light, he had a small smirk on his face as he looked right back at you. You just glared sharply at him. You had to remember he's Kira and not your brother, not anymore.

L seemed to notice the tension between you and Light.

"Miss (Y/n) you seem a little pale, I believe you should rest for a while" L said in his monotone voice as everyone's attention seemed to move towards you.

"It's alright really-" before you could finish, you had the entire task force in front of you. Surprisingly Light seemed concerned too.

"(Y/n) does look so pale" Matsuda said in a worried tone.

"You want to go home honey?" Your father asked as he placed his hand on your forehead to check your temperature.

"We can't really risk your health (Y/n)... I hope you understand" Aizawa said clearly hinting towards your recent accident.

"Aizawa San is right. If you don't wish to go home then I suggest you to stay at your suite for today" L said as he looked at you.

"Nee-chan I'll walk you to your suite" Light said as he reached out his hand to you. You saw it but acted oblivious and ignored it as you got up on your own.

"Thank you everyone for your concern, I apologize for the inconvenience I am causing" you said as you bowed respectfully to everyone, you felt genuinely upset that you could not contribute to work today despite getting an important lead.

You started to walk outside the main room to your suite while Light followed you behind closely.

"Are you mad at me Nee-chan?" Light whispered to you while being dangerously close behind you as if he was trying to intimidate you.

You looked at him, a little exhausted at this point. You could literally pass out anytime now.

"Light not now" you said sternly but the tiredness was evident in your voice.

"Hmm I see my Nee-chan is tired, you should rest well" he said as he turned on his heels to walk back to the main room as he had already walked you all the way to your suite.

You plopped down on your bed and before you knew it, you passed out.

You woke up to the sound of your phone ringing, you looked around and noticed that sunlight was coming from the window. You slept through the entire day and night and woke up directly in the morning. You pick up your phone and see the contact 'Sayu' show up on your screen. You coughed to make sure your voice was alright before answering the call.

"Hey Sayu"

"ANEEEE how are youuuuu?" Sayu yelled in excitement.

"I'm great my dear Imouto, what about you?"

"I'M DOING FANTASTIC!"

you giggle a little hearing your little sister so excited.

"Ane Anee you know yesterday Light's girlfriend came to visit us!"

Your smile slowly diminished, Light had a girlfriend? So conveniently after the second Kira was discovered? Something was wrong.

"Oh is that so?"

"YESS! She's pretty but I don't really like how she dresses" Sayu says as you could imagine a pout being on her face.

You chuckled again. You looked at the time, it was almost time for you to go to work.

"Ah Sayu dear, I have work right now. I'll talk to you later okay?" You said sweetly as you hear Sayu whine not shortly after.

"Okayy.." Sayu said.

"Bye byee Aneee"

"Bye Imouto"

You cut the call as you get ready and walk towards the main room feeling fresh as ever, thanks to L giving you a day off without you having to ask. He is just such a nice guy.
