You were working peacefully, currently there was only you, Light, L and Matsuda in the main rooms.

L had chained himself to Light, so that he could ensure that Light wasn't doing any suspicious activities. It was a rather bizarre choice of getting your opponent to speak but it's L so you trusted him.

Since they were chained, it also meant that they fought a lot, quite often. It's evident that they don't like each other.

Suddenly your peace was interrupted for the nth time today as you heard Light screaming at L, the usual. Light perhaps always acted rash but you failed to recognize it.

"YOU STILL THINK I'M KIRA!?"

"Yes"

Light suddenly threw a punch towards L who was crouching on the chair. It didn't affect L much but he pulled his legs up and started kicking Light.

You were beyond unimpressed, this is idiotic behavior.

Matsuda quickly jumped in between them.

"Guy! Let's not fight! We all have the same goal, besides you guys are friends right?" Matsuda said some gibberish as he tried to calm down the fight, which surprisingly worked.

L and Light just had a stare off before they went back to their respective works. You were grateful to L for not absolutely annihilating your little brother because L was definitely capable of that. He was way stronger than what he let people think and that was something he could use to his advantage.

You turned your head back to your computer, the killings had started again. It can't be Light since he's chained to L and the people dying are not even criminals.

High profile people have been dying, it's as if someone is trying to gain personal profit, this new Kira might be someone who would benefit from the deaths of these high officials.

"Ryuzaki, I think I have a profile of what this new Kira could be like". You said softly to your lover who turned towards you.

"I think it could be someone from Yotsuba company since that is the only company that benefited the most from the deaths of the higher ups". You finished your reasoning as you brought a few paperworks to L, all of which summarized the details of the profits to the company.

L put his thumb finger on his lips as he looked through the papers incredibly fast.

"Hmm, yes you are correct (Y/n), we will look into this" L told you as he flashed a proud smile at you, he expected this from you anyway, he knew you were more than capable and he respected that.

You smiled back at L, the sudden urge to hug him washes over you. Unfortunately, you couldn't show any affection during work hours for professionalism even though everyone at the taskforce already knew of your relationship with L. You just simply preferred keeping your personal life and work life seperate.

Suddenly Misa popped out of the blue and clung to Light. Matsuda was acting as Misa's manager for some while now since L wanted to keep tabs on Misa.

"Ane-chan! Do you want to join me on shopping today?" Misa asked cheerfully as she strutted towards you. She had started calling you 'Ane-chan' (older sister) as she looked up to you because Light did so as well.

She was trying so hard to win Light's heart and even though Light presumably didn't have any memories of being Kira, he still seemed to ill treat Misa. As a woman, it hurt you to see another woman being so blinded by love that she could not see the fact that her 'lover' doesn't even share the same feelings as her.

"Alright..but only for two hours, I have to get back to work early" you said as the young model squealed happily. Unexpectedly she wrapped her arms around you cheerfully before letting go after some time.

You turned towards L but before you could say anything, he spoke up.
"Have fun (Y/n)..get some sweets for me if you can.." L said as he waved you goodbye.

Not being able to resist your feelings, you walked towards your lover and pulled him in your embrace. L gladly returned the hug as he gently Pat your head.

"I'll be back soon, don't get hurt too much" you told L as you broke apart from the hug.

"No goodbyes to your dear otouto?" Light said dramatically as he signed.

"Take care of yourself and...don't trail off" you said simply as you turned on your heels and walked out of the taskforce followed by Misa. Matsuda was not allowed to come because Misa wanted this to be a 'girls thing' but L wasn't too pleased with that.

You didn't know but your coat and Misa's clothes were bugged with microphones so that L could hear what was going on, just in case. Of course he didn't tell Light or anyone about this, he had to be careful.
