You sat on the soft bed as you watched the detective look at the piece of paper that you had stolen from your brother's watch earlier.

It was almost midnight, not a single sound could be heard except for your heavy breathing and some dogs howling outside.

You were nervous, very nervous.

You knew you had done something wrong by not sharing such crucial information to L, your boyfriend, your life partner.

But you had your reasons. Knowing L, he would not hesitate to put Light to justice because after all 𝘓𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘒𝘪𝘳𝘢.

However Light is your blood, your brother. Albeit it was selfish of you but you couldn't just let your family fall apart.

L was completely silent, he was disappointed.

𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴.

"... L.. I'm sorry..." You blurted out softly while looking at the red carpet beneath you.

L turned his head towards you while still holding the piece of paper. He took slow steps towards you before stopping right in front of you as you say on your bed while still looking down.

"... I knew" L finally said in his usual monotone voice.

You looked up at him in confusion, what did he mean by that. Did he know that you knew about Light yet you kept quiet? Even if he did, you wouldn't be surprised.

"I just wish you had spoken with me about this..." L sighed.

"But I understand your situation and your choices.." L continued.

".... However, he's still 𝙆𝙞𝙧𝙖"

You looked down again, L wasn't wrong. You knew you couldn't stop Light but yet you kept trying.

"I... L.." You couldn't finish what you wanted to say as you started sobbing.

For a moment L just stood there watching you sob before he slowly took you in his arms. He cradled you in his arms and gently caressed your head.

You both just stayed in each other's embrace. For a while, time seemed to stop.

"... Lawliet.. My family is going to fall apart.." Your voice came as a whisper but L heard you.

"You can't help it Y/n, everything will be fine.." L said while still gently rocking you in his arms.

You stayed silent and listened to his steady heartbeat. It was so comforting.

"Y/n..I intend to confront Light Yagami tomorrow and arrest him as Kira" L suddenly said with his signature monotone voice.

You just listened to him.

"W-will he receive public execution?" You asked slowly.

"𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘴" L said with an unusually cold voice which made you flinch a little. His arms still felt warm as ever but his words were rather 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨.

"But for you I may change it to life imprisonment" L said gently as he stroked your hair gently.

"... Thank you.." You said slowly.

L gently picked you up and placed you on the bed as he looked at your face. Your eyes and nose were red and swollen due to crying.

L bent down and kissed your tears away.

"You're not upset with me?" You asked nervously as you looked at L who made himself comfortable on the bed next to you.

You knew just how much L needed support. No one from the taskforce was believing him even though he was always 𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵. You knew that you should've been next to him, tell him that you trust him. You should've backed him up.

L looked at you as he pulled you in his embrace and pulled the blanket over both of your bodies.

"I understand your actions Y/n" was all he said before he kissed your forehead and told you to go sleep.

"Go to sleep now Love, tomorrow's going to be a long day" L whispered in your ears before he closed his eyes.

You stared at his features as you gently caressed his cheeks with one of your hands.

You decided to stop trying to bring Light out of the trance. He's too far gone.

You thought that getting rid of the notebook or the memories of the notebook might bring your little brother back but he still seemed to act strange.

You realized it was not the notebook.

I kinda wanted to abandon this story cause I had no motivation to write like literally but this story received so much love and so since it's my first story, I'm gonna finish it.
