Mysterious Letter Signalling the Start of Trouble

Olivia's P.O.V.

I finally made my way downstairs and I saw Ace in the giant living room full of people and he was hanging out with a group of guys. He was having fun it looked like so I didn't want to bother him. Just then, I heard someone call my name from behind and saw Kylee walking over to me with two, 10 year old, twin girls with light blond hair and blue eyes walking on each side of her.
"Olivia, are you leaving so soon?" Kylee asked.
"Yea. I have school to go to anyway. The semester is almost over for the summer so I need to study for my finals. Hehe." I said while laughing nervously. For it was true. Finals are this week and I need to make sure I have memorized everything. Because I always did exell in my academics and always was the top of my class.
"I see. Well, here, you need to eat. I made some chocolate chip pancakes. Please take them." Kylee said with a smile as she handed me a plate with aluminium foil over it. I took the plate and smiled.
"Arigatou gozaimasu." I said gratefully and bowed. Someone made food for me and words can't describe how much that means to me.
"Mommy, who is this?" the little girl on her right asked.
"This is Olivia. She is Ace's friend. Olivia, these are my adopted daughters Lin and Ren. Ren is the one on my right and Lin on my left." Kylee said with a smile.
"Awwww. They are so cute. Hehe. Nice to meet you Lin and Ren." I said kindly as I smiled down at the twins who beamed up at me.
"Nice to you too." Lin said.
"Hello." Ren greeted.
"Haha. Well, wr have to go girls. We still have some work to do. Bye Olivia. I hope to see you again soon. Mata ne(see you)." Kylee said as she smiled as she turned around and started to walk away, waving goodbye.
"Bye bye." Ren said.
"Ja'ne' Lin said also. They both smiled and waved as they followed Kylee.
I watched them walk off and didn't notice that Ace was right behind me. He then tapped my shoulder and greeted me.
"Yo. Did you sleep well?"
"H-Huh?! Ace?"
"Yes?" He asked with a smile. "O-oh. Hehe. Ohayou(morning)."
"Morning? It's 1:30. So it should be good afternoon." Ace pointed out with a smile. I then felt my face burn as I looked the other way.
"O-oh."
"Haha. You are such a heavy sleeper huh? Nothing I did would wake you up."
"What did you do?"
"Nothing much. I just kept calling out your name and even pinched your cheeks. But other than that, I didn't do anything to harm you. So it's ok, you have nothing to worry about." Ace said, being as cheery as ever. And I also love that about him. It is so sweet and warm. So kind.
"Haha. Ok. I believe you. Well, I have to go."
"Awwww. But you just got here. Why can't you stay?"
"I need to go home and study. The semester is almost over and finals are on Friday and I get my grades on Saturday, before summer. That is why. But we will see each other again soon. Hehe."
"Well, if you say so. Bye~" Ace said with a smile and waved.
"Ja'ne(later)." I said with a smile as I left, closing the door behind me.
As I was walking I started to think about how sweet the people there are and how I actually might go back after college. But first things first, I need to get ready for the last few days of college and finish these pancakes! Omg! These are the best I've ever had! How did Kylee make them?! I then started to eat the pancakes as I walked back to my apartment, getting ready for this week.
When I got inside my apartment I saw the usual hate mail and the monthly government documents for my life support yet, there was this one piece of mail that caught my eye.
I picked up the red envelope that had a strange red wax seal and I opened it, reading the letter.
"I have found you and you are going to be mine. Let the game of cat and mouse begin."
I gasped and dropped the letter immediately. Casper jumped down from my shoulder and then chewed up the letter and envelope.
"Ok. You have been given crap before, but that is just the biggest piece of crap that you have ever gotten. "You are going to be mine", ha! That is bs. You belong to no one. And "I have found you." A stalker? I hate stalkers. I mean, you are attractive, but damn. People don't know how to make up their damn minds, are the going to beat and hate you? Or love you?" Casper growled, his hair standing on end. I smiled softly down at him, happy that he cares.
"Casper, Arigatou. I really appreciate your concern. You are so sweet neko-Chan." I said a bit shaky as I picked him up and hugged him while rubbing against his soft white fur for comfort like how I've always done ever since I first met him when he was still a kitten and I was 8. A year after my parents death, leaving me utterly alone with foster parents who never really cared about me, only the money that they were getting from the government to take care of me and then the town beatings started to happen on top of that.
I met Casper after a beating from some school kids and I had crawled into a near alley way to cry. And as I was crying I heard another cry and I went towards it, holding back my cry for I wanted to see who it was. And underneath a cardboard box, there was a little white kitten and it front right paw was broken.
When I tried to pick him up he hissed and then scooted close to the wall; which didn't stop me from wanting to help him. So, I stuck my hand and said softly with a smile,
"It's ok. There noting to fear, nothing to fear." Just then he bit my finger and I winced but didn't lash out at him. I just kept on smiling at him.
"See, nothing to fear." I said in a kind, gentle voice and then he dropped his ears and looked up at me with big green ears. He slowly released my finger and started to lick away the blood with his rough tounge, which hurt a bit but I didn't mind. I was finally able to pick him up and carry him home.
As usual, they weren't home, so I treated Casper and ever since we were always there for each other, even when he showed me his secrets, I still stayed. And we have been friends. So I wasn't utterly alone. He was always there and I appreciate it.
"Casper, what do you think this means? With the letter?"
"Nothing good. You better find out soon. Or else who knows what will happen."
"I don't want that. What if I can't see Ace anymore?"
"Ah. So you do love him. Don't deny it. I know you too well Goshuujin(Master)."
"I do. But..."
"I will help take care of you. Don't worry." Casper reassured me. I smiled and felt a bit secure yet, deep down, I knew I am not. But, I must keep hope for something has started & this letter has signaled it's beginning.
