A while later me and Rachel walk towards the nurse's station, of New York Memorial "Good evening I received a call saying my friend was in an accident" I said to the nurse. The nurse looks up "name?"

"Lucas de Sousa," I tell her, "he's in surgery, take the elevator to the fourth floor and wait there for an update from the doctor," the nurse tells us.

Me and Rachel take the elevator and sit in the waiting room, "When was the last time you heard from Lucas?" Rachel asks me. "The day of Noah's funeral. You?", she hums and says, "Same" We both sigh.

A couple of hours later a doctor calls "Mr. De Sousa's family", we get up "That's us," I say. The doctor explains what happened and that we can go up to his room to see him. We walk into the room, and he's still out, we decide to wait for him to wake up so I text Mason.

Giovanna: How are things there? I'll be there as soon as I can.

Mason: All good, his friends and staff are gone, and things are quite

Giovanna: Good, anything call me.

Mason: You got it, boss lady...

"Everything ok?" Rachel asks me, I sit on one of the chairs "Yes, I just want to know what the hell happened" I look at Lucas "Why did he ghost us? I'm pretty sure it was because of Noah but at the same time, I can't get it, Rach. We all lost Noah not to say I was his fucking twin if anyone had the right to disappear from everyone's life it was me".

Rachel grabs my hand "We all grieve in different ways" she says, "should we call Em?" I ask her.

"Let's hear him out first", she sighs "Can you imagine calling her Hey Em, how are ya? Oh btw we found your missing fiancé, that would go over great".

"Yeah, better get all of the details first. I don't want to mess her up again," Lucas and Emily were engaged, they were supposed to get married after me and Noah returned from our tours but all went to hell when my brother returned in a casket.

A few hours later Lucas starts to wake up "Rach? Gi? What are you guys doing here?" I open my eyes and nudge Rachel.

"What are we doing here? Seriously that's your first question?" I ask through greeted teeth. "What the hell Lucas! We've been looking for you for one fucking year!" Rachel yells and I squeeze her hand.

"I needed some time," he says averting our eyes.

"You needed time?! You weren't the only one who lost Noah, Lucas! I was his fucking twin!" now it was my time to yell. "Please leave," he says to me and Rachel.

"No!" me and Rachel say at the same time.

"I'm sorry Lucas, but you owe us an explanation, especially after you left your fiancé, our best friend, remember her? Without a fucking word," Rachel says.

"Start talking," I tell him.

"I understand I owe Emily an explanation but I don't owe you two shit" Me and Rachel gasp at the same time.

"You know what? We came running here because we were worried about you and even though you don't deserve shit from us after how you left us, we still came because we always show up for family—" I shake my head "But you know what? You don't deserve shit from us, let's go Rach", I get up and grab Rachel's hand, "I do hope you get over yourself for a minute and explain to the person who went against her parents and family just so she could marry you" with that we leave.

We walk outside in silence, "should we tell Em we saw him?" Rachel asks me. "To be honest I don't know, but I think she should find out from us" She nods.

"We'll tell her on Sunday," I say, we hug goodbye and get in our respective cabs.

I walk into Kai's penthouse and see Mason in the kitchen, I nod at him "he's in the gym". I thank him and walk towards the home gym "I'm back" I say walking into the gym.

Kai looks up puts the weights on the floor and gets up "You're ok?" He asks me.

"Yes," I say, "You don't have to lie to me Giovanna, I'll respect it if you don't want to talk about it but it's ok not to be ok," he tells me.

"Thank you", I tell him, he walks towards me and stops right in front of me, "I know you being an ex-SEAL and all you are mentally stronger than a lot of us, but don't forget that at the end of the day you're human too, you're allowed to feel whatever emotion you're feeling", he says and walks out of the gym.

I'm left there looking at the closed door contemplating what he just told me, I have a feeling there's a lot more to Kai Hastings than people think.
