It's been one week since Giovanna moved in with me. The press is having a field day with us, trying to figure out how we came to be.

She's normally very serious, even though, she's playing the part of doting girlfriend perfectly, in public, I don't know what to make out of her, she's currently out with Rachel and another friend who lives in L.A., and we'll have our first official outing as a couple tomorrow night, but she intrigues me and I hate I can't read her as easily as other people.

There's a charity ball, I've been invited to and I need to make an appearance. I hear her come in, I glance up at the clock it's four pm.

Closing the files I was working on, I walked out of my study, and there she was all leather pants, and jacket, and a helmet under her arm.

"You ride?" I ask, she turns around and my mouth goes even drier, if I thought her back looked good the front, sweet baby Jesus.

"Yeah, is ok if I park my bike in your garage?", I smirk, "our garage", she rolls her eyes, "Yes it's okay," I say.

"Thanks", she says, "we need to discuss tomorrow's event", I'm still checking her out so I barely register what she said to me, "earth to Kai," she says waving a hand.

"Oh sorry, what was that?" I ask her, "I was saying tomorrow's event," she says pulling out a building plant "We'll have two teams there, plus me and Mason", she explains where the teams will be positioned and evacuation plans in case something goes wrong.

"Got it", I tell her.

"Is Richard coming as well?" She asks me and I shake my head. He's the best of the best but if the man can avoid large gatherings he will.

We talk a bit more and then I excuse myself and go back to my study, to work a bit more, later I'm startled when my study window breaks and Giovanna bursts through my study "You need to come with me," she says. "What's happening? I ask her.

"Sniper, keep your head down", she pushes my head down, her body shielding me, the shots keep bursting through the windows.

Mason appears out of nowhere and throws Giovanna a sniper rifle, "Take him to the gym, no windows there, and lock the door, I'll give you the green light when it's safe to come out" she says.

I grab her wrist "Where are you going?" I ask her. "To do my job" With that she shrugs my hand away and Mason leads me to the gym.

After what feels like hours, Mason gets a text, "apartment is clear". When we walk back upstairs, there's a police team, and Giovanna is repping someone over the phone, "I don't give a fuck, I won't tolerate this type of fuckups" She disconnects the call, and that's when I notice she's bleeding and I rush towards her.

"What happened?" She turns to look at me and then looks down at her arm, "There was a sniper in the building across the park", I grab her hand, "I'm talking about your arm Giovanna," She glances through her arm "Nothing much" she removes her wrist from my grip.

"I need you to take him to the safe house," she says to Mason, "and where are you going?" I ask her. She looks at me "To beat someone's ass" she says walking off.

Mason drives me to a safe house, half an hour later, John, comes walking through the doors.

"Mr. Hastings, I'm sorry for what happened", he tells me, "Not your fault Mr. Garret, can I go home already?" I ask him.

He nods at Mason, and Mason nods back leaving the room, "Please take a seat," John says and from his tone, I know I'm not going to like whatever he has to say.

"The windows in your penthouse are being replaced so I'm afraid you won't be able to return until everything is done there," he tells me.

"What about Giovanna, is she ok?" he tilts his head giving me a puzzled look, "she is ok, currently interrogating the man who shot at you?" I gasp.

"How did you manage to catch him?" I ask him, "Giovanna shot him, I told you she's precise, she managed to figure out where the shots were coming from and shot the sniper" I nod.

I can't stop thinking about Giovanna and the look on her face, I've seen her serious, sad, and content face but her, pissed I'm on a mission face sent chills over my body. I feel like she's the type of woman you should avoid crossing, even though I almost died and the look she had on her face scared me to death it also turned me one, like crazy.
