This week has been crazy, got dinner with my parents, got kidnapped and yesterday had the pleasure of being ambushed by my mother-in-law and Kai's ex.
Leonor is everything I'm not, yes I grew up with money, and I know how to behave and everything but I bring baggage that Kai doesn't need right now, I'm currently packing my things. His mom calling me a golddigger and every name in the book, plus finishing every sentence stating I'm black just brought all my commitment issues up.
Today is my birthday, the first in 32 years, I spend without my brother, add everything else to the list it's time we call it quits. I finish packing and look around one last time.
Going downstairs I find Gracie, "Anything I can do for you Ms. Hathaway?" she says eyeing my bag. I take a letter I wrote for Kai from my bag and give it to her. "Please give this to Kai when he gets home". Without looking back I get out of there and head to the airport.
Looking back maybe my father was right, I keep running away but this time, I'm only doing it because of how much I love Kai.
Nana always told me if you love someone and you see you're hurting that person you should let them go, don't wait until the time you hate each other and that's exactly what I'm doing, I love Kai so much and I know how hard he's been working to reach his goal of becoming Mayor, I'm not going to stand in his way.
They start boarding my plane I look back one more time, I'm going to miss this place. New York was the first place I felt like I was home, maybe someday I'll come back but for now, it's time to leave
