Chapter 25 * Giovanna

The last time I slept properly was in his arms and in less than ten minutes, he's going to be here, the first time I had given use to my kitchen since I moved I hope he likes it because just the smell of the food is making me nauseous.

There's a knock on my door and open it, he looks amazing, tired, but like he just walked off a Calvin Klein photoshoot and I've missed him more than I care to admit.

"Can I come in?" he asks me with a tentative smirk, like he's unsure, "yes, please", I open the door wider so he can come in.

As soon as I close the door, he pulls me into his arms, I nestle my nose into the crook of his neck and smell him, he feels like home.

"Please tell me this means you'll come home with me" he whispers, I step back tears flooding my eyes, "I'm sorry Kai, I-I—" I clear my throat "I love you more than anything Kai, and for that I can't go home with you" it only takes a split second for him to understand what I mean, he kneels in front of me tears in his eyes "please don't do this to me... to us".

I kneel in front of him, grabbing him and burying my face against his chest " I know how much being Mayor means to you I—" I pull away and look him in the eyes "I can't be the reason why you lose it Kai, I would never forgive myself".

He grabs my chin, "Baby if you leave me I won't survive, would I love to be Mayor? Yes, but nothing is more important to me than you".

I wrap my arms around his neck "Are you sure?" I ask him, "I don't want you to resent me later on", he pulls me to his lap, so I'm straddling him "Baby, as long as I have you I'm more than good," he says.

We stay on the floor for what feels like an eternity, without speaking, until Kai pulls us both up, he cups my face "Are you coming home with me?" I nod "As my girlfriend, nothing of that fake shit, we're in it for the long run miss Hathaway" he smirks pulling my mouth to his, at first the kiss starts light, but he deepens our kiss, and I guide us to the couch, he sits and I climb on top of him, breaking the kiss, "we should eat first," I say, "no, it's been torture not being able to see you, touch you and fuck you" he kisses my neckline "no chance in hell the first thing I'm going to do when I got you back in my arms, is eat" his eyes glitter up at me "you know what? I do want to eat" a wave of disappointment passes through me and I start getting up but he pulls me back down, "I said I want to eat baby, but not food, I want to devour my woman".
