My eyes scan every corner of the packed club with a glass of whiskey pressed to my lips.
The club is electric tonight, everyone feeding off of the smiles and fast dancing. No one can see the dance floor, it's wall-to-wall people dancing to the club music.
Cameron stands to introduce himself to girls outside of the private VIP table I booked for us, slightly further away from everyone else's.
Giovanni and Sebastian are deep in conversation about whatever. At first, I was listening but eventually, I just zoned them out.
These club nights with the guys used to be fun. They still are. But they're more entertaining with my brother and his antics.
He's moved out with Tate and I couldn't be more happier for them. They built a little family and I love my niece and nephew with all my heart.
"You there, Antonio?" Giovanni questions.
"Trying to be. I think I might leave early. Not feeling it." I mutter.
Sebastian frowns. "Did I hear you right? Antonio?"
Giovanni shrugs. "No girl has gotten his interest since-"
"Don't mention her name," I say through gritted teeth.
I'm not drunk enough for this shit.
I forced myself to look down at my hands because Giovanni had a very punchable face. I pretend that I let what he said just words go through one ear and out the other.
However, it scarred the inside of my ears as they sliced their way in. The pain was sharp.
The mention of her has my blood boiling. It feels like I'm drowning and the mention of her is clogging my brain.
"Stay for a bit." Sebastian stands and urges me to follow him.
I follow him to a bar while Giovanni calls over a redhead who quickly sits on his lap.
"Can I get something strong? Strongest you've got." I request from the bartender and he furrows his brows but then nods.
Sebastian shakes his head. "Is there a reason why you want to be shit-face drunk?"
"Let's me escape the reality of my problems. So yeah."
Sebastian nods in understanding.
Sebastian may not be my brother, but he's close enough. Being my brother's best friend is like having an extra brother.
The LED lights in the club dim as the music becomes faster and louder.
Bodies collide with each other and the whole scene is euphoric.
