Mr Thompson pats my back. "Thank you for showing up at the meeting for me. I got amazing feedback."
"Of course. It was nothing, sir."
He shakes his head. "What are you still doing? It's late. You've worked all day. Go home."
"Ah. It's really no problem-"
"I insist, Antonio. Go home."
"Thank you, sir." I silently pack my bags and wish him a goodnight, enter the elevator and make my way out of the building.
I unlock my car and get in to check my notifications on my phone I hadn't had time to look at.
Unknown emails.
On my personal account.
Threats about being watched and how things aren't over.
I groan and call Christian as I drive off from the building.
"Whatever you have it say, make it quick," Christian speaks into the phone the moment he answers.
"Making out with Tate again?"
There's a long pause before he replies. "No."
He grumbles. "Just tell me what you want.""I'm getting threatening emails on my personal account. Apparently, I'm being kept a close eye on. But I have no time for their bullshit. Just get Gio or someone to block their account and make sure it's disconnected and accessible to anyone outside the family anymore."
"On it," Christian says and ends the call.
I take a deep breath and open my car window to let the wind in my face because I need all the air I can get.
Emilia went on a dinner date with the girls for her birthday last night. I wanted her to have a good time and from what Aria was talking about she did.
But I came home and wished she was there and it annoys me that something that was supposed to be strictly fake outside is now growing into feelings I don't want.
I wanted her with me last night. Eating that fucking expensive cake because I wanted her company.
I waited for her to be dropped off by one of my divers and she fell straight asleep after her shower in her room so we never spoke.I hope she's okay. I haven't had time to check on her throughout today. I hope she's not busy.
After a long hour's drive, I finally arrived in front of my apartment building.
Luce stands with a grin and waves as I park my car.
"Good evening, Mr. Fontana. Good day at work?" he questions as I approach him.
"Everything is fine," I replied, as I made my way inside and towards the elevators.
I just want to see her. Be around her and it drives me crazy.
