The nurse cleans the blood off of Cam's shoulder. She uses wipes and makes sure to bandage it a little so nothing gets inside the new wound that's going to form.

"Is everything okay?" The nurse questions him.

Cameron raises his brows and licks his lips. "Everything is more than okay."

Nurse Gabriella rolls her eyes. "Off you go sir."

Cam sighs. "Worth a shot."

Gio looks down at Cameron. "I'm sorry you got hurt. We should have-"

"Bless your sweet heart. I'm fine. Now pay up."

Giovanni hands Cam a wad of cash and it looks a lot more than their usual hundred.

Sebastian sighs. "What did you bet on this time?"

"If someone would get injured during the plan." Cam chuckles. "Turns out it was me."

I roll my eyes at the pair of them and make my way out of the room.

"I've got to get back to Eastbourne. I have work tomorrow."

Christian nods. "Yeah. The kids are asleep at their grandparent's home so Tate and I will sleep over here and pick them up in the morning. Apparently, Emilio won't stop crying."

"Fair." I turn to look at Emilia who is talking quietly to Tate by the door.

Christian laughs softly.

"What?"

"Don't think I didn't see the way you were looking at Emilia tonight."

"We're fake. It's all fake. We can't be dating if I don't look at her."

Christian shrugs. "You're in stage denial. It will pass."

I furrow my brows and my lovesick brother and walk away from him.

"Tate, sweetheart." I wrap my arms around her small body. "I'll see you later. I love you. Tell Maya I'll come to see her soon."

"I love you too." She whispers. "I will."

I nod towards the door at Emilia and she turns to hug Tate before following me

I open my car door for her and then round the car to start our hour-long drive again all the way back to Eastbourne.

Emilia usually tries to start a conversation whether it's just a little comment about how her day went and then asks me about mine but she doesn't do that today.

She sits in silence as I drive away from the manor and faces the window.

I hate that it bugs me.

I hate that her not smiling at me makes me annoyed.

I hate that watching her talk to other men makes me overly jealous.

I try to put my mind on something else as I drive because putting my thoughts on Emilia makes me feel uneasy.

I roll down my window and let the breeze caress my face. I feel Emilia turn to look my way but as I look towards her, she's already turned her head.

After what seems like longer than an hour, Emilia and I arrive at my apartment where Luce stands.

He squints his eyes but smiles when he recognises me. "Antonio? Haven't seen you in days."

"I had to travel out."

"I never saw you pack a bag?" Luce narrows his eyes and I huff out a laugh.

"So nosey. I'm not answering that. Goodnight, Luce."

"Goodnight." He tells me. He looks at Emilia. "Goodnight Emilia."

"Goodnight."

I walk ahead of Emilia so I can press the button on the elevator to take us up.

I type in my code once we reach and Emilia pushes the door open. She's walking so fast like she couldn't get away from me fast enough and I guess she's giving me a taste of my own medicine.

And I fucking hate it.

I'm already making my way after her before I know what I'm doing.

My hands grip onto her hand and spin her toward me and she lets out a loud gasp.

She looks up at me and into my eyes. "Antonio? What are you-"

Then I do the most unexpected thing.

I kiss her.
