I roll on my side and groan as I hear my loud alarm ring out.
I open my eyes and immediately shut them back again due to the shining bright sunlight on my face.
I hear a light chuckle and open them after a few seconds. "Antonio?"
"Good morning, tink."
I roll my eyes at the name. "Nothing really good about this morning."
"Why?"
"Because it's seven a.m. and I'm running on four hours of sleep."
"Hurry, Em. If you're quick we can get breakfast before I have to be back at the office."
"You're taking me to breakfast? Gosh, I'm so lucky."
Antonio narrows his eyes. "Don't test me."
I give him a half smile and make my way out of his room and into the bathroom to get myself ready for the day.
After a twenty-minute long warm shower, I enter my bedroom and pick out a black skirt with a white long-sleeved shirt and a black blazer I go on top.
I look around for my black flats and put them on once I've done some light makeup and unbraided my hair.
Once I was done, I made my way straight for the living room. My steps come to a halt when I see a cake on the table with my name on it.
Antonio gives me a half smile. "Happy birthday."
I shake my head with a laugh. "How did you know?"
"Tate always talks about your birthday every year."
I fold my arms across my chest. "So you memorised the date of my birthday. Nice." I smile. "Thank you."
Antonio nods. "We can eat it later, we still have breakfast to get right?"
Is that why he's being nice to me? Because it's my birthday and it's a good excuse to be seen in public together for media attention. So our relationship doesn't look fake?
That has to be it.
Right?
I sigh, pick up my black handbag and wait for Antonio to finish whatever he's doing so he can follow me down the elevator.
He locks his door and holds onto his briefcase tightly as I press the ground-floor button.
The sky looked brighter than it usually was today and it was only just before eight a.m. The sun is shining right at me and I enjoy every feel of it burning my skin.
