~~~ Later That Night~~~
Elena's POV
Steve and I walked into the house and it was really quiet. Too quiet. "I'm gonna go check on Elli." Steve said, I nodded and walked into the kitchen. I grabbed a bottle of water as Steve came running into the kitchen, a sheet of paper in his hand.
"Elena, she ran away!" Steve said, handing me the note. I read it and looked up at Steve. "C'mon, we're going to the Curtis house." I said, grabbing his hand. We ran to the Curtis house and I slammed the door open. "Hey, Elena, I thought-" I cut whoever was talking off when I saw Soda come out of the kitchen.
"What the hell did you say to her Sodapop Patrick Curtis!?" I could feel all eyes on me, I'm not usually one to shout. "What're you talking about Elena? What did I say to who?" he asked, looking at me with a confused stare. "Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot you just completely forgot she existed after Sandy showed back up. ELEANOR!! What did you say to ELEANOR!?" I yelled again, he didn't say anything.
"She went to the DX to talk to you Soda. She's carrying your baby and now she's gone!" I yelled, I heard a few gasps from everyone else. "What're you talking about? She never said anything about being pregnant." he said, raising his eyebrows. "WHAT. DID YOU. SAY TO HER." I repeated, getting irritated with every word.
"She came in and said we needed to talk and I told her I already knew what she was gonna say. That we shouldn't hangout or talk anymore outside of the gang. She said I was right and that I didn't have to worry about her coming around anymore." he said, he had sorrow in his eyes, but I didn't care. I didn't even know what I did next until it happened.
SLAP
Everything got dead quiet and I widened my eyes, but didn't say anything. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "You broke her heart Soda... you meant everything to her and you just threw everything the two of you had away because Sandy shows back up? What the hell is wrong with you?" I didn't let him answer, I turned around and walked out of the door.
Audrey's POV
Everyone was quiet, no one knew what to say. "I'm gonna go after Elena." I said, hurriedly standing up and running after her. "Elena, wait up." I said, she slowed down so I could catch up to her. "Elena, where are you going?" I asked, she didn't say anything. "Elena, you're scaring me." I said, grabbing her hand. She turned and faced me, tears streaming down her face.
"Audrey we have to find her and go after her." she said, her voice breaking. I pulled her into a hug and let her cry. "Elena, I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I'm your best friend so I'm gonna say it. Eleanor ran away to have space and think. She's gonna come back when she's ready. We can't stop living our lives and go hunt for her. She wouldn't want us to do that." I said, pulling out of the hug and whipping some of her tears away.
"C'mon, let's get you home." I said, taking her hand in mine. She nodded and we walked back to Steve's house. I took Elena into their room and sat on the bed with her. It was quiet for a little while until she spoke, laughing a little when she did.
"It felt good to slap Soda." she said, turning to me with a smile on her face. I couldn't help but laugh along with her. "If you wouldn't have done it, I'm sure Steve would have." I said, laughing as well. We stayed laughing for a few minutes until we heard the front door open and Steve cursing to himself. We got up and went out to the kitchen. Steve was getting an ice pack and holding it to his face.
"Steve, what happened?" Elena said, rushing over to him. "Soda and I got into a fight." he said, sitting at the table. "I'm gonna let you guys talk. I'll see you at practice in the morning Elena." I said, she nodded and turned her attention back to Steve.
Steve's POV
Elena grabbed the first-aid kit and set it on the table. She got a cloth wet with warm water and walked over, sitting on my lap. She dabbed it on my face and knuckled. She didn't say anything, but I could tell she was worried about me. She always was after I've been in a fight.
I hooked my finger under her chin and turned her face to look at me. I kissed her softly on the lips and pulled away, wrapping my arms around her waist. "I love you, Elena." I said, she smiled and leaned her head on my shoulder. "I love you too, Steve." she said softly. We staid like that for a little while, not saying anything. I noticed Elena had fallen asleep, so I stood up with her in my arms.
I laid her down on our bed, pulling her shoes off along wither her jeans and shirt, she had woken up, but was mostly asleep. I walked over to the dresser and grabbed a shirt while she took her bra off. "Here baby." I said, handing her the shirt. She slid it on and laid down while I got undressed.
I turned the light off and crawled into bed next to her. Elena scooted closer to me and I wrapped my arm around her, holding her close. I placed soft, gently kisses on her neck and shoulder. It didn't take long for both of us to fall asleep after the day we've had. I couldn't stop thinking about Eleanor though. Wondering where she was, if she was okay.
One thing I knew for sure, I hated Sodapop Curtis for what he did to my sister.
