Y/n's Pov

Oikawa fell wrong on his knee.

He just sat there, and Coach Nebutaru, me, and a couple of people on the team went up to him.

"Are you alright, Oikawa?" Coach asked him as Oikawa just nodded, not saying a word.

"Well he's obviously not alright, he didn't even say a word." He said as we all chuckled at his statement.

He thought for a moment to try to figure out how to help him, then he looked up at me, "Can you please walk him to the nurses office." He said while I just flushed a little.

Are you kidding me?

I just hesitantly nodded as he smiled at me, "Alright then, I guess everyone can take a break until she comes back." He said as everyone cheered.

I went up to Oikawa and he just smiled at me, "D-do you need some help to get up, or do you have it?" I asked him as he tried to get up a little and his legs were sort of shaking.

I just sighed, I reached my hand out for him to grab and he grabbed it, I didn't realize how much force he had until he practically threw me on the floor with him.

He looked at my body laying on the floor, "Oh, sorry Y/n-chan, I forgot to not be as forceful with you since you're more lighter than the guys." He said lowly, I could tell he was in some sort of pain, if not then he would've been basically yelling that sentence at me.

I quickly scrambled up and dusted off my outfit, a crimson color coming onto my cheeks.

I reach out my hand again and this time I am able to pick him up, I lay an arm around his shoulder to help balance him and we start walking to the nurses office.

"I think I won't be able to play volleyball at all after this." He said with pouty face, I looked at him with a 'is this guy serious' face and look at his knee, I was pretty red and seemed to look like just something small like a sprain.

"I think you'll be just fine, you might have to be benched for a couple days though." I said to him as he just looked at me and smiled.

"Thanks y/n-chan." He said, I started to feel bad for him, "y-you did really good out there." I murmured to him but it seemed like he still heard it because his face lit up, "You mean it! Oh Y/n-chan you're so sweet!" He said as I just flushed a little, and nodded.

We got to the nurses office and she looked at him.

"My, my what happened to you, dear?" She asked as I explained the situation.

"Oh well it is good that your girlfriend brought you down here to get you some help!" She said as I stopped breathing for a moment.

Girlfriend?

Did she really think that I was his girlfriend, I was probably pale since that caught me off guard.

"What's your name dear?" She asked me, "Y/l/n Y/n, and also I'm not his girlfriend, I'm just his friend." I said as she smiled at us, "Well you two would make a cute couple." She said as I just went silent, a rosy pink creeping up on my cheeks.

Did we really look like that together?

Will his fangirls attack me because they might think that?

Should I have just kept silent and not told her I wasn't his girlfriend?

All these questions running through me mind, I looked at Oikawa and saw him smiling a little to himself.

The nurse told me she would take care of him so I went back to the gym after bidding him goodbye.

"Hello Y/n! Did everything go alright with Oikawa?" Coach Nebutaru asked as I just smiled at him, "The nurse said he would be alright, she's taking care of him right now, it's just a sprained ankle." I said as the coach smiled.

"Well thank you for taking him." The coach smiled again at me as I nodded and smiled back.

They decided to not finish the game since there was no other setters.

So we all just practiced with block attacks which everyone on the team did pretty good with.

After practice was over I saw Oikawa come into the gym and sit on the bleachers.

I saw he had a knee brace, so I'm glad the nurse did actually do something instead of just give him ice.

Coach Nebutaru then called the team over to him, which Oikawa was sort of hopping over so I went over to him and asked if he needed a little help to which he nodded.

It was super awkward since it did kind of seemed like we were a couple.

'I don't even know what girls really see in him, yes he's kind of cute but I mean his looks are average I guess, you could probably find a cute guy like him anywhere though, like Nekoma, their Captain was also cute,' I trailed off into thought while walking,
'And he is a good setter and captain but you could probably find a pretty good setter anywhere, like Karasuno, Sugawara sets pretty nicely(remember guys, she hasn't seen Kageyama and them yet since it's his first year😭), and a good captain could be found at Inarizaki, Kita seems very happy and upbeat. So there isn't much that good about Oikawa.'

We came to a stop and I got out of my daydream and listened to coach Nebutaru.

"Listen, we have a practice game with Karasuno in 3 days, that gives us time to adjust to Oikawa's injury, and practice more harder." Coach said as everyone nodded, and he looked at me, "Y/n, may I speak with you for a moment, boys, please start to clean up." He says as I nod and walk over towards him as Iwaizumi helps Oikawa out.

"So y/n, I was wondering if you would be able to order the jackets for the team, since they will then come in about 2 days, would that be fine with you?" He asked me as I looked at him and nodded, assuring him that I could do the job.

He smiled at me, "Perfect, I have the boys measurements on the clip-board right here," he said handing me the clipboard as I did a once-over and looked back at him, "And if there is any complications just ask me." He said and with that he smiled at me and that was the end of my 2nd practice.

I walked over to grab my bag and water bottle and noticed Oikawa sitting on the bleachers.

"What did the nurse say about volleyball?" I asked him quietly as he looked at me, it seemed as I just got him out of his thoughts.

He just smiled at me, "She said it would be fine to set but to be careful. I have to go back tomorrow in the morning so I will probably ask her if I can play in the game on Friday!" He said as he smiled at me, I just lightly smiled back.

"Well that's good, I'm glad it's alright." I said as he nodded at me, "Thank you Y/n-chan!" He said and with that I bowed at him and bid the rest of the team goodbye.

I looked up at the stars outside and smiled to myself.

Maybe this was the right choice.
