Oikawa's Pov

There was something about our new manager.

She just seemed so humbled, and too herself, something about her attracted me.

It was more of a new feeling, I've never really felt this way about someone before, especially a girl.

Something about her just made me want to talk to her and learn more about her, maybe it's because I've never met her before, or maybe it's because she doesn't talk to people much.

I get out of my thoughts by hearing coach call us over to him.

He started explaining what we were doing for this morning activity before practicing for the game.

"Since I noticed we are all doing pretty good with everything, I'll let you guys go for a run as our first activity." He said as everyone nodded, including me, and I was about to start off until I heard him continue speaking.

"Y/n, you're in charge of staying back with Oikawa, Iwaizumi, you will be in charge of leading everybody. Since that worked out well last time." He said as I processed what he said I started smiling to myself.

How lucky am I?

We made eye contact and as everyone else was trudging outside, we started to follow behind them.

Good thing my knee was starting to feel better so I was able to go faster than the other day.

Y/n then took notice of it and said, "I can see your knee is doing a lot better than the other day." She said which caused me to smile and blush a little, hopefully she didn't notice.

"Yes, it feels better, Y/n-chan!" I said to her smiling and she smiled back.

"I'm glad." She said which we both smiled at each other.

Then she started another conversation with me, which I was surprised.

"Are you feeling nervous about today's game?" She asked as I just smiled slightly at her.

"Not really, as long as the team does good for the time I'm not there then I'll be good, but either way I'll save them with my killer sets." I said to her as she just laughed at my confidence.

"You seem very cocky when it comes to games." She said which caused me to become flustered.

"Me? Cocky? No way." I said to her as she just giggled and nodded.

"She's right, Oikawa!" I heard Iwa-Chan yell out from the front, I just sighed and rolled my eyes.

I'm glad Y/n is starting to get used to the team, and me.

Me and Y/n talked a little bit throughout the run, just about small things like school and what we doing in our free-time.

"Yea, I take my nephew out a lot with his friends and teach them volleyball, you should come one time, they would like it." I said to her as she smiled with a small blush on her face.

"That's super sweet, I assume they enjoy it. I'll have to think about it, maybe I can get my brother to do it with them as well, he's always liked sports, but only if you'd want to." She said as I smiled at her.

"Of course, the 'team' is small so they would enjoy a new friend." I said as she smiled.

"I'll tell him about it." She said and I smiled warmly at her.

We both talked a little more before showing up at the gym.

We were all out of breath sort of and red so the coach let us take a 10 minute break.

Throughout that break I was sitting on the bleachers resting my knee and drinking water.

I look over to Y/n and see her also sitting on the bleachers just looking at her phone and drinking water as well.

After 10 minutes coach called us over again.

It was about 7:30, so we had a whole 4 hours before the game.

"Hello everyone, welcome back from your run," he said as we all waved, "So we have about, 3 hours and 30 minutes until Karasuno gets here, so I decided we could do a practice game against the players like we did on Tuesday." He explained as we all nodded at him.

We all got into the same groups as Tuesday, while Y/n stayed as the referee.

The game ended, with my team winning, obviously.

I looked over at Y/n and winked at her as she quickly looked away.

Maybe I am cocky.

After our 5 minute break, it was only 1 hour until Karasuno would arrive.

Coach called us all over and we all huddled up again.

"So, we only have 1 hour left. They will most likely get here a little bit more early," he said as everyone nodded at him, "So I am deciding to let you all take a break until 10:45. Take a shower, build your stamina back up, and please come to the gym at 10:45 or before." He said, everyone sighed out of relief.

I see Y/n smiling, most likely happy she was on a break.

I can't help but smile as well.

"Oikawa, please come here for a moment." I look at coach and started to walk towards him.

"Sorry to bother you, but I'm not going to let you come into the game until the last round, I noticed you were still struggling with your knee, even though you won the practice game, I still want you to rest your knee." He said as I sighed but reluctantly nodded at him.

He patted me on the shoulder, "See you then, son." He said as I smiled lightly at him, waving.

I decided to go take a shower to remove the smell I was and sweat from my body.

I started thinking about Y/n a lot.

Why does she keep showing up in my mind?

Maybe I'm just crazy.

In love.

The back of my mind said, as I realized what was happening.

I was falling for the Aoba Johsai manager, Y/l/n Y/n.
