BY THE TIME MICHEAL AND JOSY ARRIVED at the restaurant, they were 15 minutes late for their reservation. Luckily, since the place wasn't full, they were still able to be seated.
"For my drink, I'll take a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Can I have the Red Snapper Filet with the mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, please?" Josy asked and soon the waiter nodded, writing down her order.
"Yes ma'am," He whispered before turning to Micheal who was still looking. "And for you, sir?"
"A glass of Chardonnay and for my meal, I'll have what she's having. Thanks," He said, handing him the menus. "Your orders will be out shortly."
And with that, he walked off. Josy's trailed her eyes to Micheal again only to find he was already looking at her. "How's work, everything good?"
Josy sighed and looked down at her nails. The waiter returned and he placed their glasses in front of them. They thanked him before he left and Micheal took a sip of his wine.
"Talk to me, baby."
"Work is... work. There are so many events we have to plan and it never seems to end," She said, her eyebrows furrowing together. "What about you? How is training?"
He played with the rings on his fingers, "You know, normal shit. It's getting closer, Josy. I–I think I have a really good chance."
"Of course you do, baby." She smiled, sending him a wink. He chuckled, trying to hide the sudden blush that appeared on his cheeks. "I love you. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me."
"I love you. You are so smart and handsome. I can't wait for our future together." He kissed her knuckles and she smiled, feeling on top of the world.
Throughout their date, they continued chatting and every time Micheal cracked a joke, Josy would always laugh. She just couldn't help herself. They used this time to have deep conversations with each other and spill secrets they'd never told before. If it was even possible, they formed a deeper connection—one that they didn't have with anyone else.
After they finished eating, Micheal grabbed the bill and pulled out his wallet, without thinking a second thought. They headed back to Micheal's truck, hand in hand and smiles on their faces.
TIMESKIP
The next day Micheal narrowed his eyes, whispering words of assurance to his black and white horse, Storm. After he jerked the reigns, he started galloping towards the tall log fence. He jumped over the obstacle, running towards the next one. The sun was burning down on the small town and it must have been over 95 degrees.
Beyoncé adjusted her shades as she continued watching him train. She had found his schedule at the training ground and anytime he left his house to head over, she was always right there. There were over a dozen cowboys training and preparing but not once did her eyes ever leave his figure.
