Sadistic Saint
CHAPTER FORTY - ONE"SO YOU'RE TELLING ME, YOU TWO IGNORED the law of physics and just so happened to drive under an 18-wheeler?" Roman asked, laughing to himself. Dom placed his cards down on the table and clapped. "Mike, you just lost yourself the game."
Micheal groaned, leaning his head back as Dom grabbed the money on the table. "Roman was distracting me! He can never know when to shut the fuck up."
"I was just asking the questions we were all thinking. Don't blame me for your incompetence."
"Dom, Don't get too comfortable. Pour the money back on the table. You know we don't stop until it's mine." Tej demanded.
"We'll see," Micheal said, grabbing the cigarette that was behind his ear and lighting it.
Roman scoffed. "Yeah, we will see."
After the race, they all decided to head to the boardwalk for more enjoyment. Beyonce spotted Letty leaning against the pier fence, looking down at the dark ocean. She walked over, refusing to say anything first. The pair just observed the peaceful waves crashing on the shore.
"All that testosterone getting to you?" Letty asked, taking a sip of her beer.
"It's giving me a headache," Beyonce responded and they both shared a short smile. She sighed, looking down at her nails. "Your name is Letty, right?"
"One and only." She confirmed, before gesturing with her head. "And you're..."
"Beyonce."
"Sounds familiar."
"I bet it does." She verbalized. "So what's your story? How'd you start?"
"I became a street racer in my teens. Dom and I met when I was 15 during a race. Both our cars crashed and I had to pull him out. I almost lost my arm." She said, watching Beyonce look back at the boys who now loudly laughed. "So you ride for him."
"The same way you ride for Mike."
Beyonce playfully looked down as Letty nodded her head. "It's obvious. Anyway, what's your thing? We're all racers or mechanics. What are you?"
"I'm a singer. I've been doing it ever since I was young."
"You famous or something?"
"Not really." Beyonce joked, chuckling.
Just then, they heard the sound of the rollercoasters running on their right and she cringed. She would never run on those things, especially when they went so high. "Have you ever been on that roller coaster? The really tall one?"
"Oh, that? It's nothing." Letty scoffed, holding her hands out. "I've been on it a thousand times. Don't tell me you're afraid of it."
"I am not." She promised, gently pushing her. "I-I just know they're so dangerous. Have you heard of the people who fall out of them?"
