Over the next couple of days, Recovery Girl forced Izuku to stay in bed and rest. No clue why she didn't want an injured child jumping out of windows, but he was mostly fine with it.
Just about every staff member visited him at least twice, and Present Mic and Midnight both went nuts when they found out Erasure adopted me. Izuku was slowly going nuts thinking about how he would explain his adoption to both Mai and his classmates. Maybe the simplest answer was just to tell Mai, no schoolmates. Yeah, that seemed like a better idea. The one he was worried the most about though, was Kacchan. Izuku had very little doubt in my mind that Erasure, Nezu or both of them would make me confront him in some way. There was also the fact that Izuku wasn't entirely sure who knew about his quirklessness, but was fairly certain that if Erasure didn't know already, he would toss him aside like an old toy if he ever found out. Izuku wasn't exactly liked by anyone who knew other than Mai.
When Izuku finally recovered enough for Recovery Girl to give him the green light, Izuku had to stay at home for two days before he could go to class again. He was hoping he could go to his home, but he was now an Aizawa so that was off the table. Izuku was, however, allowed to make a quick stop to his home to grab anything personal.
That was how he was sitting in Erasure's car with Present Mic while he drove them to an abandoned apartment. It wasn't too far from the school, but the drive still felt like hours. When they arrived, Mic had to help Izuku out of the car a bit since he still had casts and a sling on his arm and leg with a new crutch, and he had to help Aizawa since both of his arms were in casts and slings. The three of them made their may into the into the old building and up to the fourth floor where Izuku made his home.
Both Erasure and Mic looked at every detail of the building with sadness in their eyes. Izuku couldn't tell why, but that didn't change that it was there. When we finally reached the apartment, Izuku had to ask Mic to bend down and pick up a piece of fake rubbish concealing a silver key. He unlocked the door and stepped aside.
"Owner first," he said quietly, holding his arm out to the apartment as a gesture for Izuku to go inside. He hobbled in carefully and didn't bother to take his off shoes this time. Izuku first went over to his laptop, blueprints and small things he had been tinkering with to make sure everything was there and nothing was stolen. Erasure and Mic watched as he carefully sat down on the floor and pulled some boards away to pick up my costume. Izuku stuffed it and other things into his backpack along with his minimal clothes. Izuku got up and walked back to the heroes.
"Let's go," Izuku said.
"That's everything?" Mic asked.
Izuku nodded and they looked at each other with confusion before the trio left. Mic drove them to Erasure's house next. It was a simple two story house with pale blue paint and white accents. It wasn't fancy (which Izuku loved) and was pretty western. It was late, so Mic got started on dinner while Erasure showed Izuku his new room. It had a simple bed, a small table and a small closet. Izuku was completely fine with the amount of stuff, but the look on Erasure's face told him he didn't agree.
He went downstairs to make sure Mic didn't burn the house down and Izuku put everything away. It didn't take long at all and soon he was hobbling down the stairs as best as he could to find Mic and Erasure chatting. The way they interacted with each other reminded him of brothers. Izuku almost felt jealous of their relationship. They'd known each other for around twenty years and still cared for one another, yet the longest he'd known someone who even tolerated him was four. He also felt kinda sad.
Erasure soon noticed him in the doorway and got him to sit down at the table in the other room with him. Neither of them knew what to talk about so they just sat in silence until we saw smoke coming from the kitchen. They both tried their best to get up and help Mic but Erasure was faster. He ran into the kitchen with his scarf already floating (how does he do that?), ready to save Mic if needed. When Izuku finally got to the kitchen, most of the smoke had cleared and he saw what happened.
Mic was standing next to the oven, which was still producing plenty of smoke, holding a muffin tin filled with quiches. Erasure was looking at him with disappointment. When Izuku hobbled over to them, he saw that Mic had somehow both burnt and undercooked the food.
"Sho? I think the oven's broken." Erasure sighed and told me to go wait back at the table while he helped Mic cook the quiches without burning them any further. Izuku found much entertainment from watching their interactions.
Not long after, Mic walked into the dining room with Erasure tailing and making sure he didn't drop the plate he was holding. They all ate dinner together and Izuku kinda just watched them have a conversation about whatever and kept out of it. He was definitely not the best when it came to talking with other people, scratch that, these people. Erasure eventually managed to wrap him into their conversation anyway.
"Izuku, aren't you hungry?" He asked. Izuku was a little confused at the question but it made more sense when he gestured to the single quiche Izuku had nibbled on. He'd probably eaten less than half of it.
"Oh, I just usually don't eat a lot. It's mostly just a small lunch at the cafe," Izuku replied with a smile. The heroes both looked at him and then each other with concern. Izuku was just confused.
"Maybe we should be trying to get you to start eating more," Erasure said while turning to him. Izuku nodded silently before he told him to go to bed since it was late. Not at all a confusing day.
Notes
Hello, this chapter is a tad messy and disorganised, but it'll be fine. I've written a short book if you're interested. It's called 'A Wander Through Memories', and it's a jjk fanfic. It's kind of a spinoff to another book I plan on writing when I've finished this one and it may contain spoilers for those of you who don't read the manga. Anyway, see you next chapter!
