~Carlie's pov~
Hours passed. It felt like only minutes have passed but it was already four in the morning. My neck kept itching, right in the spot that guy bit me. It was an irritated itch, like the kind that comes from the inside. I started scratching harder until I got to a point I was sure I'd start bleeding. I dug my nails into my palm as the itch started turning into a burning sensation. I took deep breaths trying to not once again drag Jack into my problems. He hasn't slept in days because of me. Suddenly my throat started closing in. It was hard as hell to breath. Now would be a good time to call him. "J-Jack." My voice was barely heard. It was hard to get my tongue to spit out the words. I took a deep breath and held tightly to the sheets under me. "Jack!" my voice cracked. The lights flickered on and he rushed towards me. "Whats wron- oh my god.." He covered his mouth in shock as he stared down at my neck. "I- can't- breathe." I gasped for the air that wouldn't enter my lungs. "I'll go call Theo! Just, don't stop breathing!" He rushed back and forth across the room. Just think about happiness, think about Disney land. I was trying as hard as I could to not faint but the pain was unbearable. Jack rushed up to me holding the phone to his ear with his shoulder. He moved my hair away from my neck and forehead. "God you're burning up.. Theodor! Carlie she's, her neck, where she was bit its oozing this black blood out of where that dude bit her!" He turned around looking for something. The situation only started getting worse. My body started shaking violently. "She's starting to convulse what the fuck do I do Theodor!" The vein in his neck would pop out every time he would yell. He put the phone on speaker and set it on the night stand next to me."Get the first aid kit I gave you and pull out the small glass bottle with the purple liquid." Theodor's voice shook. Jack scrambled over to the closet and pulled out the kit. "Okay okay I got it!" He yelled pulling out the bottle. "pour 3 drops on where she was bit." I looked at Jack terrified. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He turned my face to look the other way and the cold liquid dropped right where it hurt most. The pain was now out of control. The tears rolled down my face as the sensation felt like fire was lit on my neck. "Carlie don't cry please, please I don't want to see you cry! How do I help you!" I cursed and screamed violently. "Theodor what do I do!" Jack placed his hand on my forehead as I bit my bottom lip. "The pain should soothe away in a couple seconds. Get a sample of the blood and send it to me so I can examine it." I felt the pain slipping away along with my consciousness. I preferred it that way, I just want to sleep..
~Jack's pov~
Her eyes started dozing off. "I think she's going to faint." I moved the back of my hand on her cheek. She still has a fever. "Thats normal, so much pain can cause her body to basically turn off. She'll need to rest in order to charge her batteries. Jack, have you told her about the tattoo?" I quickly took the phone off speaker to make sure she wouldn't hear. "No, I haven't and I don't plan on it. Her ex is on the loose. Somehow he found us last night. He thinks I kidnapped her." I looked back at Carlie. The black veins around her neck were starting to fade. "Should we be worried about this? I thought this neck problem was done and over with?" I grabbed a small sample bottle and two drops of the dark blood fell to the bottom. I covered the top with a cork. "Well the curse has a big impact on this whole situation. I mean this curse is gonna feast on her until she's nothing." Theo's voice went low. I looked at Carlie once more. "I could hear her heart, it's racing yet she's so still." I watched her chest bounce up and down as she breathed. "Jack, you have to be with her. Listen to me when I tell you, you are probably the only thing in this world that will truly neutralize her pain. You're the only one who can help her. She needs you Jack." I sighed and bit the inside of my cheek again. "Just stop playing games with her and embrace that you fucking love her man. You have a tattoo to prove it." I looked at my flower tattoo. He's right. "Alright, alright man. I promise you that next time you see me, I'll be hand and hand with her." I looked down at my feet. "I hope so bro. Call me if you need anything. Take care." The call ended.I grabbed a chair and pulled it up next to where Carlie was laying. "Carlie?" I made sure she was sleeping. " I know I ain't the best at showing my feelings and not the most emotional or sensitive guy there is and I know you deserve so much better than a loser like me, but what I'm tryna to say is." I sighed and looked at how her hand drooped off the side of the bed. I grabbed her hand in mine. Mine were always warmer. "Carlie, I, I've never had a family or a home and coming on this trip with you and Theodor I've learned a lot and I've learned that you are my home. and you probably aren't listening to me right now but.. I love you Carlie. I'm so madly in love with you and I have my tattoo to always remind me. and just having you around and hearing you laugh makes my heart skip a beat." I stood up and kissed the top of her head. "Never change Carlie, please, never change. Stay bubbly and happy for as long as you live." I whispered in her ear before I let go of her hand. "Stay." she mumbled. I looked back at her. She was still asleep. I sat back down and grabbed her hand again. "I'm not going anywhere."
