"Missouri here we are!" Jack parked in front of a diner. "Finally, I'm starving." I said hopping off the car and storming into the diner. I took a seat in the closest empty table and Jack followed. He grabbed one of the toothpicks and stuck it between his teeth, leaning against the cushioned seats. "Hi can I take your order?" The familiar looking waiter said. He looked at Jack and then at me. "I know you from somewhere?" He pointed his pen at me. My heart beat raced. "Oh god, Carlie?!" He smiled brightly. "Its me! Justin!" I gasped and stood up to hug him. "I knew I recognized you from somewhere!" I looked over at Jack who was confused. "Oh Jack this is my ex, Justin." Justin stuck out his hand for Jack to shake while Jack just looked at him with a serious face and said. "..sup.." With an aggressive tone. "Wow you look great!" I smiled. "Yeah well you look gorgeous yourself." He placed his hand on my hip which kinda made me uncomfortable, but I played along. "So um are you guys together?" I looked at Jack and let him answer. He kicked his foot up on the seat and leaned against the wall twirling his toothpick around. "..No." was all he said. My smile left quickly. Did he just say no? After everything we've been through he says no?

"Well we should catch up sometime. I mean wow, you look phenomenal. I really wanna see you again Carlie." I smiled awkwardly and sat back down. He took our order (on the house) and left off. Jack looked at me with a high chin as he bit down on his toothpick. "What?" I said aggravated. He shook his head shifting into a different position. "Nice guy, That Justin dude." He said playing with the salt and pepper. I grinnded my teeth together not wanting to speak. "real friendly fella." He said sarcastically. "Yeah, he really knew how to treat me right." I said with a slight chuckle. "I think what I loved most about him was that he was so proud of our love, he adored showing me off as his girlfriend." I said ironically. I saw Jack's jaw twitch. We were both silent until we left.

Jack walked in front of me towards the car. "Oh wait Carlie!" I heard Justin call after me. "Can I get your phone number?" I looked over at the car and saw Jack staring. Hm, well since we're not together. I guess it wouldn't matter. I gave Justin my number and hugged him one last time. "You should pass by my place tonight." He whispered into my ear as his hand gripped my butt. I grinned and smiled brightly. "Fuck off Justin." I winked at him with a gorgeous smile. His face was utter shock as I walked away. We did break up because he was a cheater.

I sat next to Jack. Before I could even close the door Jack drove off at the speed of light. "Woah could you slow down? You know I don't like speeding." I said buckling my seatbelt. "Oh my bad, I thought you liked speeding since Eric loved it so much." I looked at him with an annoyed look. "Or maybe I should call Justin, he could give you a ride." He muttered under his breath. "Whats your problem huh? Justin is a good guy and treats me right. You should be happy that I finally found someone I could talk to. I lost all communication with my friends, my dad.. He's the closest thing i've got to home." I looked out the window. I lied about how I felt about Justin, but I do miss Tennessee. "Nah, nah, I'm truly happy you found someone who cares for you so much. The way he shows it tells me a lot." I thought about when Justin grabbed my butt in front of Jack. "Why are you so jealous? Its not like we're together or anything. Matter of fact, I can flirt, fuck and hang out with any guy my heart desires." I looked at his reaction with a smile. He started clenching his jaw again. "You're right, and I could sleep with any girl I want. I haven't fucked in a while, I'm sure one of these Missouri sluts wouldn't mind." He grinned. Ugh, little man whore. "Just don't talk to me." I said scooting closer to the window.

Nightfall hit. I'm so tired. Jack got a room with only one bed. So we slept with our backs facing each other. I scrunched my pillow close to me. I don't need him. I couldn't sleep. I closed my eyes 12:04am. I opened my eyes, 1:55am. I closed my eyes again, 2:23am. I felt the left side of the bed get light. I turned around and saw Jack putting on his jeans. "Where are you going?" I asked. "Don't worry about it.." He spat his words with anger. Well that hit me where it hurt. I turned back around bit my lip trying to hold back the tears about to burst. What if he went out to sleep with "one of these Missouri sluts" like how he said. I heard the door close. I began to sob endlessly. I threw the pillows against the wall and threw a fit. I fucking hate him. Screw crying over a guy, I'm gonna go shower.
