      ~Friday night~
I inhaled and exhaled stepping over the stones. I saw The old rusty trains. I walked over the rails trying to balance myself and walk in a straight line over it. I saw Jack smoking a cigarette and leaning against the rough metal of the train and staring at the train across from him. "Its a nice mural." He pointed at the painting I was doing with my friends. Its still unfinished. "You ready?" He turned to look at me. I shrugged my shoulders. "I guess.." I sighed. He took off his leather jacket and put it over me. He backed up and snapped his fingers. "Wait for it, they like to make an entrance." The sound of thunder came to my ears which scared the shit out of me. Jack chuckled. The dark night parted leaving a bright light shining down upon Jack's beauty. "Come on baby, gimme my wings!" Another thunderbolt flashed. Jack started shifting his body around and the sound of bones popping and cracking came to my ears, "fuck, is this suppose to hurt so much?" Suddenly a pair of beautiful white wings unfolded from his back. I walked closer to him in shock. "Jack, they're gorgeous." He smiled looking at his wings. "Fuck yeah!" I scowled at him. "What did I say about cursing?" He sighed rolling his eyes "leave it in the bedroom." I nodded grinning. "So this is it?" He sighed. "Oh wait, I have someone here who's wanted to see you for a long time." He closed his eyes and suddenly a floating white light came shining down from the bright light coming from the sky. The ball of light morphed into the shape of a woman. My heart dropped to my stomach. "Hey baby girl," I swear I was about to faint but I couldn't miss out on this moment. "Mom," I walked up to her I put my hand out to touch her, but I couldn't. I missed her eyes. "Mom, I, I miss you so much- I, why did you leave us? Dad and I." The tears slowly ran down my cheeks. "Sweet heart," Her hand was against my cheek but I couldn't feel her touch. "I never meant to leave you. I just needed to. My body's time was up. Oh and before I go, tell your father I say, always, he'll know what I mean." I nodded and watched her back up and stand next to Jack again. She waved at me. "I love you baby girl." I waved at her. She looked at Jack. "Thank you for keeping Carlie safe Jack." Jack blushed nervously. "Aye, it was real nice meeting you Mrs.Maine." I watched her turn back into the floating ball of light. "love you mom."

I looked at Jack again. "So this is it, I'll never see you again, will I?" He sighed. "Well I'll always stick around." He shot one of his eyebrows up as he swayed back and forth on his tippy toes. "I'm gonna miss you a lot Jack." He opened his arms. I ran into them and felt the positivity radiating off of him. I looked up and saw where the light was shining down from. It was so bright. "I love you." He whispered into my hair. "I love you too." I backed up. "Oh here," He tossed me his lucky lighter. "Something to remember me by..See you around white girl." I smiled. "See you around, Brooklyn boy." He grinned. I watched his wings wrap around him and saw him turning into the same ball of light as my mom. He floated upward and with another thunderbolt the sky closed and the night was once again silent, quiet.. and beautiful. I wiped the tears that were now down to my neck. "I'm gonna miss that loser, so, fucking, much." I flicked the lighter and watched the flame dance. I sighed.-

      ~1 year later~
We all laughed at Mia's stupidity. Well my life is pretty stable now. I've already graduated high school, i'm going to the same university as Mia. Dad is still in a relationship with Margaret and Robin and Ella are the best step siblings I could ever ask for. Its a lot less lonely around the house with them. Robin is gonna be a sophomore and Stella is gonna be a senior. Turns out Stella and I have a lot on common. I looked at the luna bracelet and thought about Jack. I told dad I had a "vision" and told him that mom told me to tell him "always".
Dad just breathed heavily and sat on the couch. I asked him what was it that she was talking about and dad said that he asked mom if she felt proud of him. and she said always...

The subway today was full. But people still vandalize around here. I walked over to the painting Jack had made here a year ago. I smiled at it. I looked over at some young painters to my left and suddenly I see a familiar face wearing a leather jacket and leaning against a wall with a cigarette in his mouth. He winked at me. When I looked again he was gone. I smiled. "Hi Jack."
