The rays of sunshine flows through the gaps of the curtain and interrupts my sleep. I wake up to find Vihaan's side of the bed empty.

Oh no. I have work!

I stumble through the tangled sheets to find a post it note in the nightstand beside a glass of water it says:

Take rest Sunshine. Your boss has granted you a paid holiday until you get well. Wife privileges and all  ;)

My stomach does a funny flip inside. I smile at his thoughtfulness and wakeup to get ready and text Nitya.

Shivanya - Wanna talk bestie? 👀

Nitya - "It's been 84 years" ('Titanic' movie reference) 😒

Shivanya - I'm making up to you buy ordering Chinese. Muah muah 😘

Nitya - Look at you learning to impress me! On my way 🏃🏻‍♀️❤

I sigh and shake my head. I don't want to talk about this mostly because I know Nitya will feel guilty for what happened to me that night because I was on my way to her place. But I have no other options. Without telling the whole truth she won't understand my situation.

So when she comes by I tell her everything. As I thought she cries telling me that she's one of the reason that happened to me.

"Nitu, please don't cry. It's not your fault. I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Even if you had picked up the phone he would've found another way to kidnap me. So please don't feel guilty on this." I say to her wiping her tears.

"That fucker! If he's not dead already I would've killed him. I must thank Jiju for sparing me a lifetime in prison. What would've I done if something had happened to you. I cannot even imagine!" she hugs me tightly. I cry along with her. After a while she goes on

"I can't believe uncle & aunty kicked you out of the house. How could they do this to their own daughter!" She grinds her teeth. I completely understand her if I were in her place I would've reacted the same.

"They are ignorant Nitu. They wanted to live respectfully infront of our relatives who doesn't even care if we are alive or dead. Atleast now I hope they can live in peace without me." I whisper.
