Today, I planned on hanging out with the Pogues. A break from school and life itself.
School isn't that dreadful, being the fact the Kooks and Pogues go to separate schools. Public vs. private.
I had the opportunity to go to private school, with the Kooks. My parents insisted I give it a try. If I don't like it, they'll back off the topic.
So, I went for half a year, with Kie. She never really spoke about it.
Every time I would ask her, she would reply with something like, "they're assholes, why should we care what they think?"
Although she had a point, I never really cared about that either. We were friends with Sarah, for the time there.
The three queen bees, who ran the school.
We'd walk down the hallway with full confidence. I could never tell if the other students were afraid of us or Rafe.
He was always watching over Sarah and Topper, every single second.
When he wasn't doing that, he was talking to me the entire time. Rafe has always been trying to get with me. In more context than that.
"Not in this lifetime, and not in any lifetime," I'd say to him.
He respected my decision, but even that couldn't stop him from asking everyday.

I've been waiting for JJ, at the dock for about twenty minutes. Make that twenty-one minutes.
I walked down to the bottom of the dock and waved JJ in.
"Finally, I thought you were never going to show," I said.
He fixed his red cap. "And leave you stranded out here by yourself. Not on my watch cupcake," JJ replied.
Cupcake is my nickname. I actually have no idea where it came from, but I like it.
We met up with Kie at one of Rose's realtor houses. She was looking at John B who was on the rooftop, drunk of course.
"John B, what are you doing?" I asked, concerned for him.
"Something dumb. As always," Kie said.
He continued to joke around as if he was going to fall off the rooftop. He took a sip from his beer can.
"That's what, a three-story fall to the deck? I give you about a one-in-three chance of survival," Pope claimed.
John B was known for pulling stunts like this. One time, he laid out on a car windshield and let JJ drive him around the police station.
He would have totally done it for real or accidental. I was still worried and has the instinct of a mom.
He licked his finger and brought it to the air, to test the wind.
"Should I do it?" He asked. I didn't have a doubt that he wouldn't do it.
"Yeah jump," I heard Pope say.
I stared at Pope and shook my head. "Don't encourage him. John B, why don't you come down?" I recommended. To keep himself from at least breaking a bone or more.
"Ok, you asked for it," John B told me.
In that moment, I knew what he had meant.
"Wait!" I yelled.
Before John B could jump, security showed up.
