I woke up at JB's house, with JJ beside me. My arm was wrapped around his back, as he laid on his stanch. I carefully took my hand off of his back.
I got off the bed and walked outside.
All morning, Pope practiced lifting Kiara down in a bucket.
"How's it feeling?" Pope asked.
"Feels good," Kie responded. She looked over at me. I smiled at her, with my arms crossed.
"John B pullin' a Houdini," JJ said. I looked behind me and saw JJ coming down the stairs outside.
"Yeah, where is he?" Pope asked. "I got my scholarship interview tomorrow morning. We gotta get this done!"
"Speak of the devil, hey!" JJ greeted.
John B looked furious. Like he was ready to kill someone.
"John B-" - I started.
John B walked past us and entered his house. He rattled through drawers.
"You all right, man? What— what's up?" Pope interrupted.
"What are you looking for?" Kie asked.
John B picked up a gun he found in his sofa. JJ and Pope attempted to interfere, but JB pushed them onto the floor.
I ran after John B. He got onto a bike and was ready to drive off.
"Ward knows about the gold," JB admitted. "...he's the one who killed my dad."

Barry's trailer homeI walked to Barry's. As I got to his trailer, I saw Barry held at gunpoint by Rafe. "Oh my goodness! Rafe, stop!" I yelled. I sauntered to Rafe.
"What are you doing? Have you lost your mind?" I screamed.
"He hurt...you," Rafe hesitated. He avoided looking directly at me.
"So what, Rafe? You're gonna shoot him? Do you think that it will make it better?" I asked him.
"I'm doing what's right." He glanced over at me.
I came closer to him and put my hands on his face. I reached for the gun slowly and dropped the gun out of his hand.
Rafe stared at Barry. I placed my hands on his neck and pulled him into a hug. He wrapped his one arm around my back.
"I'm fine. And that's all that matters," I muttered in his ear.
"But.." Rafe started.
I shushed Rafe and looked back at Barry.
"I suggest you get out of here before he kills you," I said, while maintaining the hug with Rafe.
I watched Barry as he ran down the street.
I stared back at Rafe. I raised my hand to his cheek and leaned in to kiss him. I backed my face up and stared at my hand that ran up and down his face.
"I love you, so much," I told him. I looked up at his eyes.
Rafe leaned in to kiss me again. He placed his hand on my face and kissed my bottom lip.
