"No effing way!" Kie yelled. "You brought her here? So what? She's in on this now?"
John B looked at Pope, JJ, and I.
"I dunno," Pope shrugged.
"Look, all I care about is her cut comes out of your share," JJ announced.
"I mean...she's already rich," I determined.
"You know, I don't remember taking a vote. This is our thing. A Pogue thing," Kiara explained.
"I gotta say, I'm just a tad uncomfortable with all this," Pope said.
"Thank you!" Kie said.
"When are you not uncomfortable?" John B asked.
"I dunno. I rode on the back of JJ's bike pretty comfortably," Pope replied.
"It's true. Most relaxed I've ever seen him," JJ confessed.
"That's cute, guys," John B joked.
"You know we were all extremely comfortable until you brought her," Kie said. She turned her head to Sarah.
"Stop talking about me like I'm not here!" Sarah argued.
"Then leave," Kie suggested.
Sarah scoffed and looked at John B. She rolled her eyes.
"Told you," Sarah gloated.
"Told him what, exactly? That you're a liar?" Kie asked.
"No, that you're a shit-talking bitch," Sarah snapped back.
"Oh, shit!" Pope mouthed.
"My moneys on Kie," JJ whispered, while passing Pope money.
"Nobody's betting their money," I said to Pope and JJ.
"Oh yeah," Kie said.
"When have I ever lied to you?" Sarah asked.
"You get somebody close to you..."
"I didn't lie about shit."
"Everybody shut up!" John B yelled. "Kie, you are my best friend, right? And Sarah, you're...you're my..."
She stared at John B. "Say it," Sarah encouraged.
"You're my girlfriend."
Sarah smiled, meanwhile Kie made a disgust face. "What was all that talk about you were just using her for information? Get a map, cut her loose," Kie started.
"You said you were using me?" Sarah asked.
"No," John B denied.
"Yeah, you did," Pope said.
"You said it," I chimed in.
"If she's in, I'm out," Kie burgeoned.
"I'm not doing this," John B said.
"You are gonna decide. Me or her?" Kie stared at Sarah, then back at John B.
Kie sighed. She walked out the door and so did Sarah. "I'm gonna go," Sarah told us.
"Kie," I said.
I followed Kie down the dock and sat down beside her.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
She shook her head. "How could he do this? You know?" She asked me.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I guess, that love walked through the door," I defended.
Kie glanced over at me. "What?" She questioned me. "You're on his side now?"
I shook my head. "No," I replied. "Okay? I choose both. Pogues stick together. Which is why you need to leave John B alone."
