We stood in silence. Did John B's dad actually find the merchant? Where is the gold?
"John B?" I stuttered.
He got up and cried on a doorframe. Kie comforted him.
After everyone settled down, we had a small fire.
Kie was playing instruments for us to listen to.I was swinging on a hammock.
"How much was it again?" JJ asked.
"Five hundred mil," Pope replied.
"Alright, let's talk the split. Now, before we say evenly, may I remind you that I am the only one who can properly defend us from those groupers, who are after us. Technica-."
I walked away and sat on the dock next to John B, who was away from everyone else.
"So, four hundred mil. That's a lot," I said.
"Yeah, it is."
"How do you feel?"
"I'm not sure."
"Understandable."
"If you had to, would you want to find out who your birth parents are?"
"...absolutely. If there was even the tiniest bit of information, I would take it. Why?"
"I'm wondering if there's even a point in finding my father."
"JB there is. Don't lose hope."
I got up and embraced him. He was very sweaty and wet.
I brought him over back to the gang.
"What are you gonna do with your hundred mil, Pope?" Kie asked.
"I would pay for college in advance, and also textbooks, those are expensive," Pope answered.
"How about you Kie?" JJ questioned.
"Yeah. What does a socialist do, when she's rich?" Pope asked.
"..I just want to make a double album. About obx and the Pogues. You know, like catching fires about Kingston. Record in my own studio. Peter Tosh producing."
"Peter Tosh is-."
"Dead. I know that Pope. The spirit of Peter Tosh will never die."
"Actually, I know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna get a big house on figure eight, and go full Kook," JJ added.
"Your gonna go full kook?" Me and Pope asked.
"Yep. Marble statue of myself and I'm going to get a coin pod and put a bunch of those fish."
Kie laughed.
"What are you going to do Liv?" JJ asked.
"...well, for starters, I would buy a mansion. Some of the money would be spent at the library hall. So I can research my birth parents. The rest of it would be used to fix this place up, or at least be given to families with kids," I said. "What about you, JB?"
"..to going full Kook?"
"To going full Kook," we repeated and cheered.

I was tanning out on the Pogue boat. It's a good sunny day.
