John B tried to report it, but the cops were too busy. The sheriff felt like it was something important. I had a feeling she knew, so I nagged on John B's shoulder and we left.
John B drove the HMS Pogues boat to a beat up old motel.
"Me and Pope will be on the lookout. You guys go," Kie suggested.
"Don't let JJ do anything stupid," Pope said.
"Pope stop worrying. I'm a big boy, I can handle this," JJ replied.
"I got ThEM," I assured. I smiled to both JJ and John B.
"Be careful, John B," Kie said.
The three of us walked to the front door all the way on the end of the second floor.
I always knew that Kie liked to flirt even though she didn't try. She's just being a good friend.
John B and JJ were talking while walking. I was in front of them.
"Just be so careful John B," JJ mocked. "What the heck was that about?"
"I don't know. She was just being friendly," John B assumed.
"Dude she's flirting with you," JJ said.
"I can't really speak for her but...she might not be interested," I added.
"She totally is. Be so careful John B. Oh, give me that John D already," JJ mocked, yet again.
"John D? Seriously man?" John B asked.
We finally reached the door. The boys were ready to open it but I stopped them.
"First, JJ...no Pogue-on-Pogue macking. Second, there could be someone in there," I reasoned.
"She's right," John B agreed.
JJ walked over to the door and knocked 4 times in a beat type of way.
"Housekeeping," JJ said, in a high-pitched voice. He sounded like a girl.
I put the key through the door and twisted it open. At first, I thought it wouldn't have worked but then it did.
"Well what do you know," I thought. I looked over at JJ and smiled. "Housekeeping?"
"Yeah. It was the first thing that came to my head," JJ said.
JJ passed me a flashlight. I grabbed it and turned it on. I shined it on paper work and clothes. John B and I lifted the bed sheets up and checked under the bed.
"Um...look what I just found," JJ said. He looked back at us, while pointing to a black safe.
We bent down next to him. It had spaces for a four digit code. John B continued searching for a while.
He flipped through papers and threw them to the side. That's when he found a "pretty" little slip of paper with a code on it.
He handed it to me.
"This might work," I decided.
I bent down to the safes level and entered the code. We heard a beep. I turned my head towards JJ and John B. I shrugged my shoulders.
I looked back at the safe and took a deep breath. I touched it and turned it to the right. It latched open.
On the inside was files, money, and a gun. I noticed it had sprung JJ's attention.
"JJ don't," I demanded.
I stared at JJ and shook my head. I turned back to the safe. I took the paperwork out and left the rest of the things in the safe. Immediately, John B and JJ took what they wanted. I sat on an old mattress. I flipped through envelopes until one caught my eye. I threw the other stuff on the bed.
