As I got ready for the party, I realized that I'll have to communicate with people. Which I'm not good at all. Senior citizens I'm really good at, and kids my age. But adults, yeah...not so much.

Especially Kooks. They're always judging you, even if you think that they're not. That's why I have to up my game today.

I'm wearing gold jewelry, a white headband, white wedges, and a pink tight dress.

"You look stunning," my mom complimented.

"Not as much as you do," I insisted. I reached out and held onto my mom's hand.

"I have to agree with your mom," my dad said.

"Thanks."

I fixed myself in the mirror before we left.

I won't be totally alone, because all the Pogues will be there.

Pope is working there, Kiara is obviously going, JJ is my date, and John B is dating Sarah.

My dad drove all of us to the Cameron's house. It was odd seeing my parents at these events. They dislike Kooks, but not as much as I do.

I haven't been inside since I last visited Rafe.
My perspective of their house was very different. Like I've never been in it.

"Finally, you guys made it," Kie exclaimed. "I didn't want to be the only Pogue here."

I gave Kiara a hug. Behind her I noticed Rafe talking to another girl. It shouldn't bother me, since we're not together. But it did.

I released myself and headed out back. The sun was going down quickly. I heard Ward and Rose began presenting their boring speech.

All they did was talk about how they love the community and hope to make it better.

I got distracted by Rafe. He was going up to his room. My eyes followed him up the stairs.

I set my drink to the side and made my way inside the house. I assured myself, that now is my chance.

I followed Rafe up the stairs, after he went to his room first.

I opened the door and shut it behind me.

It startled Rafe. He looked at me by the door. "Olive? What are you doing here?" Rafe asked.

I walked around his room. "Your dad invited me," I answered.

Rafe shook his head. "No. I mean, what are you doing in my room?"

I shrugged my shoulders and made a pouty face. "Just checking on you. Our breakup must have been hard. But then again, you thought our relationship was platonic...I should say. "

I got closer to him.

I saw Rafe's eyes drift down my body. I lifted his chin back up to my face. "Eyes up here, lover boy," I told him.

Rafe scoffed but still kept eyeing me.

I walked by his dresser and dragged my hand all the way to the end of it. "Maybe we should have kept it that way. But you could never resist a brunette," I recalled. "Speaking of...how's your girlfriend doing down there?"

He crossed his arms and leaned against his dresser. "She's just a friend."

I did a little swing around the pole at his bed. I folded my arms on his bed and leaned my body on them. "It's a shame, you won't be the guy to take this dress off of me tonight."

I backed off of his bed and walked to his door. I placed my hand on the doorknob and turned it. I closed the door behind me.

I got him right where I want him. He's jealous and upset.

I walked out the door feeling like a badass.
He's already wrapped around my finger.

When I got to the bottom of the stairs, my mom was there. She had a smile on her face.

"JJ was looking for you," She told me.

"Sorry," I apologized. "I was using the restroom."

She saw me fixing my dress, the same time Rafe came down the stairs.

My mom cuffed my arm and brought me out back.
She had to know where I was. She probably took it the wrong way.

Rafe's face looked flushed and he was panting heavily.

I lifted the bottom of my dress and walked through the back door. JJ was waiting on the dance floor with his hand out in front of him.

I smiled while looking at my mom. She nodded her head, with a bright smile on her face too.

"May I have this dance," he asked me.

I accepted his hand and placed my other one on his shoulder. "Yes, you may."

I noticed JJ was picking up on the moves. I looked down at our feet and back up at him. I chuckled. "When did you get so good at dancing?" I asked.

"I may have practiced yesterday...with your mom."

"Really?" I wondered.

I think my mom treats JJ as one of her own. She does that with all of the Pogues. She's never had a boy of her own or a second daughter. "She definitely taught you well," I added.

We danced for a long time. Eventually, my feet gave out. After the song finished, everyone backed away from their partner and clapped their hands together.

I curtsied in front of JJ, as we made our way off the dance floor.

I could sense someone was staring at me. I sprung my head to the right, and saw Rafe standing across the yard...looking at me.

I cleared my throat. "I'm like really parched," I told JJ. "I will go get us some drinks."

He nodded his head and let go of my hand. I watched JJ walk away then I turned around and made my way over to the drinks.

Rafe was standing right next to the drinks booth. "You're looking at me," I whispered.

He stared at me. I continued to ignore him. "How can I not?" He asked me.

I stared back at him, when he said that. "Is that your way of saying you're a fool for mistreating me?" I joked.

I picked up the ladle and poured the punch into a red solo cup.

"That's my way of saying I want you back," he confessed.

I picked up both cups. "If you excuse me, my date is waiting for me," I told him.

I walked away with the cups in my hand. I scanned the room, looking for JJ.

I felt a hand grab onto me. I looked down and observed the ring on his finger.

I looked up and saw JJ, shushing me. He took his cup out of my hand and drank it.

He pulled us around and walked us over to the Pogues boat.
