chapter five ˚✧ ₊˚ʚ
chaewon bit down on her bottom lip as she sat at her desk at home, her hair loosely held up by a hair tie and her glasses sitting on the brim of her nose. she closed the book she had in her hands, setting it down on the white desk.
it had been about three days since she saw yunjin, and she couldn't help but worry about the red haired girl. there had been something about seeing the girl break down in front of her, she couldn't stand knowing she was hurting. it felt awkward for chaewon to care about someone like this, she wasn't usually this caring towards people she barely knew-but something about huh yunjin had her in shambles.
chaewon let out a little sigh, and ran her delicate fingers through her bob. she stared beyond her door; wondering what sakura had been doing. the two lived together in a small two bedroom apartment near their campus but things had been awkward ever since the movie night. chaewon thought back to the movie night, her mind wandering back to the familiar girl. no matter what she did, she couldn't shake the girl from her mind.
chaewon stood from her chair, she needed to take her mind off yunjin and focus on her current problem: her relationship with sakura. she gently opened her bedroom door, the sleek wood floor sending shivers down her spine due to the coldness. the kitchen light had been on, and chaewon could smell the slight odor of cooked ramen.
"kkura?" she called out, watching as sakura peeped her head from around the corner. their eyes meeting, "you can come." sakura replied, "i was finished anyways."
"no, wait!" chaewon called out, running out to her best friends. "please, can we talk?" she pleaded, earning a sigh from the elder. "chaewon i-" sakura started, "please. help me understand. i can't lose you over something like this." chaewon desperately whined, she couldn't lose her best friend over a girl she barely knew.
sakura gave the girl a look, "yeah, yeah i guess." she spoke defeatedly, her feet moving her to the living room. the living room has always been where the two had their deepest talks, and shared their darkest secrets. it was very comforting for the two; the light dim with fairy lights strung up and cozy blankets upon their black couch.
"i just, you mean so much to me sakura. you can trust me, you know?" chaewon said with a soft smile as she sat on the couch, immediately pulling the cover over her body.
"i just," sakura started unsure if this was something she could actually say to the girl. while the two had been best friends for years, sakura still hadn't told her best friend that she was a lesbian. it wasn't because she didn't trust her, she just didn't want anything to change between the two. she also didn't want to accidentally out yunjin-but from the looks of it she may have to.
