the walk back to the apartment was quiet; yunjin had been nervous to break the tension since they shared the kiss—fears shackling her down.
they had been standing in the living room, yunjin awkwardly near the couch and chaewon nearing her bedroom.
"i'll sleep in here tonight." yunjin said quietly, earning a slight nod from chaewon.
"at least let me redress your bandage," chaewon mumbled, glancing over to yunjin. yunjin fiddled with her fingers before nodding—not paying attention to the actual throbbing the bruise has been giving her.
she slowly moved over to chaewon—who immediately intertwined their fingers and pulled yunjin towards her bathroom.
"does it still hurt?" chaewon asked, causing yunjin to grimace.
"just a dull throb, nothing to worry about. i honest forgot about it until you brought it up." yunjin answered honestly.
"i didn't mean to make you aware of it, im sorry."
"it's okay," yunjin said, a soft smile on her cheeks. yunjin stared at the girl who slowly unwrapped the bandage, her body tensing as chaewon's fingers slowly grazed her skin. she felt her tongue stick to the roof of her mouth.
chaewon gently looked up—eyes noticing the longing stare yunjin had been giving her. "what?" she asked quietly.
"nothing."
"must be something."
"just looking."
"at?"
"you," yunjin whispered, "you're beautiful."
chaewon's hands paused as they helped onto her button-up. "jen..." chaewon whispered, her eyes slightly glancing upward.
"yeah?"
"can i try something?"
yunjin felt herself gulp and she slightly nodded. chaewon eyed her, looking into every single crevice. "you think i'm beautiful?" she started, "god jen, have you seen yourself? the stars are jealous of you." before yunjin could even respond, a pair of warm, soft lips were placed onto hers—a mere peck, yet they were still close. chaewon kissed her. she actually did it.
"kiss me again," yunjin whispered against chaewon's lips—immediately letting her hands wrap around chaewon's hips.
this kiss was hungry, desperate, clingy... everything they wanted, so much different than the one they shared an hour ago. the first one was gentle; this one was rough. a need. they needed each other. chaewon pulled yunjin up, dragging her into the bedroom. she pulled her into the bed, her hands gripping tightly onto her exposed skin.
"chae..." yunjin mumbled against her neck, lips trailing down. "want you." chaewon was quiet, desperate.
"i know, but not yet, baby. i want to wait for you to be ready."
"okay... kiss me still. please. i've been yearning for your lips, i'm desperate."
"i thought you wanted to figure this out."
"yunjin..."
"mmh?"
"shut up and kiss me."
yunjin let her hands cling to chaewon's waist, her thumb gently hovering over her hip—not touching.
"why are you holding back from touching me?"
yunjin let her lips trail from her lips to her neck. "don't wanna hurt you."
chaewon let out a small mixture of a gasp and a moan as she felt yunjin's lips trailing against her neck. for something so wrong... it felt so fucking right.
"chaewon—" they both heard, the door opening and immediately catching the two of them.
"dad." chaewon whispered, eyes closing as she stood out of the bed. "i can explain," she mumbled.
"can you?" his voice was full of malice. "how could the daughter of a preacher... engage in such filth?"
"mr. kim, it was my fault. i pushed myself onto her—if you blame anyone, it should be me," yunjin said, her voice trembling but firm. the man sneered at her words.
"well, obviously," he spat. "who did you think i was gonna blame? my daughter? the one i raised better than this? no... i'm gonna blame you. bringing this faggot activity around my daughter." his voice rose with each word, venom dripping from every syllable.
"you're the reason she sinned." he snapped, his hand grabbing a fistful of yunjin's hair and pulling her roughly. yunjin winced in pain but remained silent, though her body stiffened in fear.
chaewon's chest tightened, her heart racing as she saw her father's grip tighten on yunjin. "leave her alone!" chaewon screamed, running forward, her hands clutching at her father's arm in a desperate attempt to pull him away from yunjin.
"chae... leave it alone. i'm used to it... i'll be okay," yunjin murmured, her face twisting in pain as mr. kim yanked more of her hair, pulling her toward the door.
chaewon's body jerked violently as her father shoved her away. she slammed into the counter, the impact sending her sprawling to the floor, her head connecting with the edge of the countertop with a sickening thud. a gasp escaped yunjin's lips as she saw chaewon collapse, the sight making her adrenaline surge, snapping her out of her daze.
"chaewon..." yunjin whispered, rushing to her side, her hands trembling as she cradled the other girl's head in her lap, blood dripping from the wound on chaewon's forehead.
chaewon's eyes fluttered open, and yunjin could see the dizziness in her gaze, the sharp pain she must have been feeling from the impact. "she needs a hospital, please... please help her," yunjin begged, her voice breaking as she looked up at mr. kim, searching his face for some trace of remorse.
but there was none. mr. kim's expression remained cold, his eyes devoid of any empathy. "she's a sinner. let her suffer." his words were like daggers, his back already turned as he walked away from the scene without a second glance.
yunjin felt the despair wash over her, panic rising in her chest. what was she supposed to do? she had no car, no license, and it was too late to call any of her friends. she didn't even know where she was. but in that moment, there was only one thing left for her to do. she shakily pulled out her phone and dialed the only number she knew would be there for her, even now.
"yunjin?" her mother's voice was soft, groggy, like she had just woken up. but yunjin didn't care. she needed help, now.
"mom... please help me," yunjin's voice cracked as tears blurred her vision.
