chapter six
˚✧ ₊˚ʚyunjin felt the sweat beads lace across her pale skin, her tongue sticking to the roof of her mouth as the vehicle drove past the blur of world. her pink lacy dress felt tight against her skin, sending a turmoil of emotion rushing throughout her body. the air felt thick, almost as if it had her by the throat and had simply been dragging her down the rough black pavement.
"yunjin?" yeonjun asked, worry creeping up his throat as he stared at the panic fusing out of his bestfriend. which usually she was always a bit anxious, however this time it felt drastically different than the normal for her. yunjin tugged at her necklace, her fingers spinning the piece around the chain-a nervous habit she had picked up for whenever she managed to get herself into situations like this.
she felt her teeth sink into her inner cheek, the past scarring could be felt against her tongue; another habit she had picked up from her anxiety. to be quite honest, yunjin didn't know what was causing this. however she was able to point it down to a few things: sakura, chaewon, yeonjun, and her dad.
"do we need to turn around? yunjin, please say something." yeonjun pleaded, his hands gripping tightly against the steering wheel-turning a pale-ish white.
"what?" she stuttered out, flickering her gaze over to the black haired male, admiring how well put together he looked.
she knew he looked much better than she did, with his black hair slicked back, a light blue button up, and khakis. when she had asked the male to join her in church, it was simply there to help her steer clear of chaewon. to which he agreed instantly, almost ecstatic that she had even asked him in the first place.
truth be told, she had been avoiding the girl ever since she got that message, not even opening it. she couldn't dare to get closer to chaewon, she couldn't risk ruining someone as beautiful as chaewon with her evil past.
"are you okay?" yeonjun repeated, his brows furrowing into a deep state of concern. "y-yeah, i just..." she started, "church scares me. especially because i think my parents may have told them that i was gay."
yeonjun's lips coursed into a thin line, "are you sure this isn't because of a girl?" he asked, his eyes focused on the road. a certain way he spoke made yunjin's stomach drop, that same exact feeling she had gotten from her father when he ridiculed her for being a lesbian.
yunjin felt her chest tighten against the still air, the humid breeze suffocating her even more than before. as much as she yearned to blame her anxiety on the possibility of the pastor knowing she's a raging homosexual, she knew he was right.
she had not been able to get the girl out of her mind since the message came in three days ago, wanting nothing more than to toss all of her worries aside and give chaewon whatever she wanted. her mind traveled back to the movie night, her skin setting ablaze as she thought about chaewon.
