chapter sixteen
ʚ ✮ ɞ"you can't sleep in the same bed as her, and you know exactly why!" chaewon's dad spat out, his anger fusing through the walls.
chaewon scoffed at the response, "we fell asleep, nothing happened and nothing will ever happen! god dad, what's the big deal? how did you even get in here?"
"the big deal?! she's a fa-" he snarled, disgust lacing his voice as he thought about the scene he witnessed.
"do not call her that." chaewon defended, "i don't care how mad you are, but you do not get to call her that. you can never ever call her that, not around me or even in the near vicinity of me. matter of fact, i don't want you here while she's here; leave now. we can talk about this later or not. i am grown, i don't need my father throwing a fit about who i hang out with. she's just a girl! she is just my friend, she doesn't mean anything further than that."
"but chaewon—"
"leave."
"she's going to turn you into a sinner, disgusting monster. you need to quit hangi-"
"would you listen to yourself for a moment?!" chaewon spat out, "i have a guest here, and you've walked your merry way in here and walked into my room—without asking! what would you have done if i had been with a guy?! would you have reacted the same way, or is it because she's a girl."
"you know why i'm reacting this way. it's not everyday you come to your daughters apartment to see her cuddled up against another girl—a gay girl to be exact—in the same bed! and to make it even worst, it's her! you know what i think about her, i told you the moment her father came and spoke to me—"
"how the hell did you even get a key?" chaewon had started to sound desperate at this point. "actually, i don't care, leave. get out of my house, or i will call the police."
"you wouldn't call the police on your own father? i pay the bills here—"
chaewon scoffed, "no, you don't. sakura's father owns the building—we live rent free so now please! leave before she wakes up. and leave the key," chaewon stated, "the next time you come here the locks will be changed."

yunjin let her eyes flutter open as the sound of arguing decreased—the slight yells now hushed down to complete silence. she should have known this would have been a bad idea, and now the very exact thing that got her in this position is now the very reason chaewon is arguing with her father. she should have known that her parents discussed her, 'situation' with the pastor—it would explain why the male decided that the first day of yunjin joining the church would be the perfect day to preach against homosexuality.
she gently pushed herself out of the comforts of chaewon's bed, her body shuddering against the sudden coldness of the wooden floor—causing her feet to gently retract back up. she slowly put them back down and slowly pushed her body forward to the door. she wasn't sure she actually wanted to face chaewon—let along tell her that she heard the entire argument.
