chapter seven

yunjin let out an exasperated sigh as she walked down the busy sidewalk, her shoulders lightly brushing against sweaty men in business attire, who had likely just gotten off work.

"watch it?!" a voice snapped at her, causing her to turn back. "sorry, i'm sorry!" she mumbled, her chest heaving up and down as her eyes scrambled for the apartment name that chaewon had given her. after the church sermon, chaewon had texted her the details of their meeting. truth be told, she picked the absolute worst timing, because now yunjin is stuck in a bustling sidewalk with nothing but angry businessmen and the occasional woman giving her dirty looks as she pushes past them.

"fuck, why is everyone here?" she grumbled to herself, glancing down at her watch. "great, now i'm late." she spoke, earning a few concerned looks from passerby's. had they'd never seen someone talk to themself?

yunjin knew chaewon came from a pretty wealthy family, but when she was told that she lived on the other side of town in the suburban district she was quite taken aback. in a small town like this, it was quite noticeable that this is where all the "rich," people live.

yunjin wasn't poor, nor had she been rich. she was simply middle class, but that was all merely because of her parents. her dad being a big business owner and her mother being a registered nurse. she contributed absolutely nothing to their income, but she had been in school: however she was out for the summer. she couldn't mentally handle taking any summer classes this time.

she bit down on her bottom lip and fished her phone out of her jean pocket as she felt the slight buzz coming from it.

she smiled as she looked at the caller id, and accepted the call.

"yunjin, where are you??" chaewon asked, her soft voice felt like music to yunjin's ears. it was truly something she'd never be able to get over. yunjin smiled as she listened to chaewon's concerned voice radiate through her ears.

"i'm coming, i'm running behind because...well lets face it chaewon, you chose the worst possible timing. i keep running into sweaty men!" yunjin complained, her eyes locating the apartment complex. "ah, found it!" she muttered in excitement, pushing forward to open the doors.

she stopped in her track when she noticed the interior, "fuck chaewon, this place is huge." she whispered into the phone, her eyes gawking at the lobby.

it was gigantic. white marbled floor with small velvet interior strewed all over, and a huge chandelier in the middle of the room-she was most definitely the odd one out yet again.

"yunjin, would you stop staring at the lobby and come up." chaewon pouted through the phone, she had been looking forward to this all day and at this point she had gotten impatient.
