Easton Sandoval
"VEN."
I stood in the hallway while I looked at my sister who stood in the opened bathroom. She tilted her head and kept her gaze on me. Her black hair was tossed over to one side and a few strands hung over her eyes.
Ever since she heard I was going out tonight, she wouldn't leave me alone. I wanted to be alone with my friends, but she wouldn't have it.
She thought I wasn't going to be true to my word and find someone else to be around.
I didn't want anyone else to be around. I just wanted my lover back.
Weston lifted both of her hands and gestured me towards her. "Easton, ven."
Easton, come.
I shook my head at her. "No."
It was something with her tonight, and I didn't plan on finding out what exactly it was.
She stayed in my life a lot, but tonight was completely different. She wouldn't leave me alone.
I started to walk down the hallway to head towards the staircase, but she caught hold of my wrist.
She pulled me into the bathroom with her. "Ay, ven hacia mi porfa."
Come to me please.
"I heard you the first time." I informed her while gently shaking my hand to make her let go of my wrist. "I just don't feel like being around you."
She moved her hands to rest at her hips. "That's a bitchy thing to say to someone who's going to college in a few months."
"It's 30 minutes away."
"I don't care," Weston shook her head and stood on her tippy toes. "Acércate."
Come closer.
Once I moved closer to her, she brought her hands up to my hair and ran her fingertips through them. She ruffled my hair and brushed through it.
"Why are you messing my hair up?"
"So no girl wants you."
I lifted my hand to her upper arm, right underneath her elbow to remove her from my hair. "You're weird."
"You're weirder." She countered. "Why do you want someone else when you had the best?"
"I don't want anyone else." I specified. "It's just a hangout."
"Just a hangout?" My mom repeated my words. She had overhead our conversation from the doorway.
I turned to look at her. She leaned against the doorframe and smiled at both of us. Her black hair was down her shoulders and she wore a shirt from my dad.
"You're on her side?"
"No, I don't even know what we're talking about." She leaned up from the doorframe and took notice of our appearances. "Where are you two going?"
"I'm going with him to Devin's house." Weston answered. "Voy a ser el gurdaespaldes de mi hermano."
I'm going to be my brother's bodyguard.
"I don't need a bodyguard." I switched my gaze to her. "Especially if they're barely 5'4."
"Height doesn't define anyone."
"What's up with this hair?" My mom lightly furrowed her brows but allowed a smile to touch her lips. She lifted her hand to touch my hair.
