I unfolded my hands as they hung by my sides, my expression blank. I had no words. My own Mamasa had killed my mother and father. Tears welled up in my eyes, and I collapsed on the floor, feeling numb.
As I was about to hit my head, I felt something soft underneath. With blurry eyes, I looked up to see Ranisa. There was a look of worry and care on her face. Was it for me?
"Yashika, I am always here for you," she said, stroking my hair and giving a kiss on my forehead as she enveloped me in a warm, motherly embrace.
Tears rolled down my cheeks like a rainstorm. I felt pain, agony, betrayal, and dirtiness. My painful screams echoed around the palace like a dreadful hunt.
I held onto Ranisa tightly, burying myself in her embrace. "Why? Why me?!" I screamed, my throat hurting as everything around me started to fade. My eyelids felt heavy, and all I wanted was to close my eyes and escape to a land of happiness and smiles, where there was only love and warmth.
I didn't want to open my eyes. I could feel the love I had always craved, the love I never knew existed in this world.
"Yashika?" a soft yet deep voice called my name, but I resisted opening my eyes. Was I dreaming? How could someone care for me so deeply?
The voice called my name again, and I couldn't resist. Slowly, I fluttered my eyes open, adjusting to the dim lights around me.
There they were, the most beautiful, deep, and mysterious eyes looking into mine. They were glowing in the dim light, but it was more than that. I felt something deep, something indescribable. I felt ME in those eyes.

Digvijay's POVAs I discussed her parents, I heard her painful voice. She fell to the floor before I could catch her, and Maasa rushed to grab her in his arms tightly. Her screams pierced through me like daggers, and she clung to Maasa, seeking comfort. I wanted to protect her, but I knew she needed a mother's love in that moment.
After her screams subsided, she fell asleep, her body trembling. Maasa, with tears in her eyes, continued to comfort her, stroking her back and wiping her tear-stained cheeks.
"Bacche sab thik ho jayega.... Maasa hain na aapke sath. Apki Maa hain aapke sath. Aapko kuch nahi hoga. Aap humesha humare paas rahenge."("Everything will be okay, my child. Maasa is here with you. Your mother is with you. You are safe with us. You will always be with us,")Maasa whispered to her sleeping form, tears streaming down her face.
I heard a sniffle from my father, the former king, who stood stoically but was clearly affected by the emotions in the room.
Maasa called my name, instructing me to take her to the chamber. I kneeled in front of Yashika and gently lifted her in my arms, ignoring any objections and taking her to my own chamber, with Maasa and Bapusa following behind.
I laid her in the middle of the bed, covering her up. Maasa sat beside her, patting her forehead with care. Bapusa ordered a guard to fetch the healer, and after everyone left, the healer emerged from the room.
Desperate for answers, I questioned the healer about Yashika's condition.
"It seems she has endured a great deal of suffering. She appears to have lost her will to go on. Did something unexpected happen to her recently?" the healer asked, and it dawned on me. Yashika had fainted upon hearing the news of her parents' deaths, realizing her own family was responsible for the tragedy
"I have given her the medicine, she will be alright. But she is extremely weak. So please do not let her be sad or stressed. She needs to be as happy as possible," the healer said before taking permission and leaving.
Turning to Maasa and Bapusa, I suggested they go and rest, deciding to let Yashika sleep. I assured them I would call if needed and mentioned having Nayantara stay with her at night, knowing they wouldn't let me stay alone with Yashika. After they left, I gave strict orders to my guards not to allow anyone in until morning.
Sitting beside Yashika, I held her hand and kissed it, whispering, "Everything will be alright, My Queen." I watched over her throughout the night as she slept peacefully. I must have drifted off because I woke to her wrapping an arm around me, nuzzling her face against my chest. It felt nice, and I closed my eyes, thinking of a brighter tomorrow.
The next morning, I woke up at my usual time, finding Yashika still holding me tightly. But it was time to go now.
"Yashika?" I called her name, but she didn't wake up, even after shaking her. "Yashika, please wake up," I tried again, gently caressing her cheek until she slowly opened her eyes.
Her eyes were so beautiful, like a starry night sky or an ocean glowing in the moonlight. My hand instinctively continued to caress her cheek. She didn't flinch or pull away, simply gazing back at me as if searching for something within.
It wasn't rushed or intense, just a tender exchange of affection. It felt delicate, like I was holding a fragile rose that needed care. And in that moment, all that mattered was the connection between us.
We both slowly parted our lips while our foreheads symtayed connected. She was holding me tight from my shoulder while breathing heavily yet slowly. Her eyes were pinched tight avoiding looking at me. It made a little smile coming on my lips and I simply leaned in to kiss her cheek.
