AUTHOR'S POV

Then, he crafted a tiara from the vibrant flowers scattered throughout the jungle, creating a crown befitting her beauty, ready to present it to her and engage in a new game.

By the time she emerged from the lake, Digvijay had already departed. Yashika was a little surprised to find her clothes missing, but upon seeing the scarf lying on the ground, adorned with a brooch that looked like it belonged to royalty, all her doubts vanished. It was as clear as water what the intentions of Rajasa were.

Yashika picked it up and wrapped the cloth around her soaking body, the wet material clinging to her curves

Yashika picked it up and wrapped the cloth around her soaking body, the wet material clinging to her curves. She then fastened the brooch as a necklace around her neck.

The way she adorned herself made her intentions unmistakably clear to the king. She was leaving no doubt that she wished to arouse him and compel him to submit to her allure.

Yashika walked away from there, cradling Hema in her arms. Her back, exposed to Digvijay's eyes, was a tantalizing treat he could only see but not taste.

This exquisite torture continued until she reached home. Upon her arrival, she noticed someone already waiting for her. The figure sat with their face covered, making it impossible to discern whether it was a man or a woman.

Yashika appeared completely unbothered by the presence of the mysterious guest, as if she had been expecting them all along.

"Now tell me, why did you call me here?" From the sound of the voice, it was confirmed that the guest was a woman.

DIGVIJAY'S POV

I followed her all the way to her home, puzzled as to why she had chosen to return instead of going to the temple as she usually did. She was clearly up to something secretive. Though her bare back was a tempting sight that filled my thoughts, those distractions quickly faded when I saw a figure sitting inside the hut. She stepped in and embraced this mysterious person.

Jealousy surged within me at the sight of someone else invading her personal space, especially when she was so lightly dressed and holding that figure close. The person's face was hidden, but their attire suggested they were a warrior of high rank. But who could it be? Then I heard a voice that shocked me, "Now tell me, why did you call me here?" It was undoubtedly a woman's voice, but the question lingered—who was she?

I stood at a discreet distance behind her home. The torn dry grass had created a small opening, allowing me to see everything clearly.

"Did you bring it?" Yashika asked, and the woman nodded, handing her a small pouch. "And those arrows?" Again, the woman nodded and presented her with arrows marked with a lion emblem—the symbol of the Vijayratha Empire, reserved only for noble officials and bravest warriors. None of this made sense to me. There was clearly something hidden that I did not know.

"I WILL BE BACK," Yashika exclaimed with urgency before rushing out of the hut and returning a few moments later.

Before I could hear anything more, something soft brushed against my foot. Looking down, I saw Hema, nibbling on a leaf and seeking comfort. A smile spread across my face as I bent down to pick her up, but a twig snapped beneath my foot, breaking the silence and alerting those inside. I turned to see if the women had heard, and to my dismay, the cloaked figure had vanished without a trace.

I remained still, eager for more information, when Yashika's words struck me like a bolt from the blue, "Rajasa, I know you are watching me right now. I also know you noticed that someone was here just moments ago and that they gave me some items." I held my breath, not daring to speak or move. I wanted to catch every word she had to say.

"There are things you are not aware of—secrets that have been kept hidden from you since the night you were attacked." To be honest, my heart was racing to such an extent that I feared it might cease to beat altogether.

She reached into the small pouch and pulled something out, and what I saw felt like a dagger to my heart. There, nestled in her palm, was a pair of bangles—no ordinary bangles, but the ones Maasa had intended to gift Yashika. I vividly recalled the day Maasa had summoned me to her chamber to reveal those exquisite gold bangles, adorned with rare and precious gems.

"But how? She never had the chance to gift them," I murmured, my mind racing. Maasa had wished to present them to Yashika in front of the world, to formally accept her as her daughter-in-law, but that fateful night had upended our lives forever.

Yashika continued to hold the bangles, her gaze fixed upon them, while I struggled to process her words. It was time for me to step forward and uncover the truth.

"That night when you called me to Chandra Jheel and confessed your feelings—the night I experienced true happiness for the first time—yes, that very night, our world changed irrevocably. The person responsible for it all was none other than me." She turned to face me, her eyes devoid of any emotion, while mine searched hers, trying to find a glimmer of something else. I simply could not accept the notion that she was the one who had attempted to take my life. This could not be true. My Yashika could not be that person. I might question my own family, but never her—my little warrior, the purest soul. She would never commit any wrongdoing. My gaze remained locked onto hers, desperate for answers..

I could not bring myself to voice the words that would confirm the reality of her confession. Yet, her vacant stare shattered my trust piece by piece with each passing moment.

"WHY? Why did you do it? ... WHY?!" Snatching the bangles from her hands, I hurled them away in a fit of rage. My growl was loud enough to terrify anyone, even my fiercest adversary, yet she did not flinch. I noted the lump she swallowed, a sign of her struggle.

"YOU NEED TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS, right now!" I gritted through clenched teeth, desperate to give her a chance to prove her innocence, but it was as clear as day that she stood her ground.

Tears threatened to spill from the corners of my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. "If you did it, then why confess to me now? You could have easily evaded everything, all accusations. You already had me wrapped around your finger—then why?" My brows knitted together in genuine curiosity, while my eyes burned with feelings of betrayal and anger.

All I sought were her words—those would be my first and last answers. After that, I would never wish to see her again.
