As we slowly parted our lips, our foreheads remained connected. She clung to me, her shoulders trembling, her eyes pinched shut. I couldn't help but smile, and I leaned in to kiss her cheek.

A pink flush rose to her cheeks, and she averted her gaze. I tried to stifle a chuckle, but it rumbled out anyway.

Yashika bit her lower lip, and my heart skipped a beat.

"Don't do that, princess, or..." I whispered in her ear, my voice low and husky.

"Or what?" she asked, her voice groggy from sleep and intoxication.

"Or I might take you right now and here." I whispered, and in the next moment, I stepped back, creating a safe distance between us.

She turned, ready to strike, but realized I was no longer there.

"Looking for me, princess?" I asked, a hint of amusement in my voice.

Her eyes widened in shock, and all sleepiness fled from her face.

Just then, a guard's voice came from behind the curtains. "Rajasa, Rajkumari Nayantara is outside."

I nodded, and the guard let her in.

"Bhaisa, what are you still doing here? Maasa is coming this way," Yashika warned, her eyes darting around the room.

"Don't worry, you're already here, so it won't affect her," I reassured her, and she smiled, understanding my plan.

As we conversed, Maasa arrived with my brother, and she bombarded Yashika with questions. After a while, she left, instructing Yashika to rest for the day.

The day passed quickly, and I grew anxious, waiting for night to fall. Tonight, I would confess my true feelings to Yashika.

As I paced in my chamber, Bapusa entered. "I know you love her, and you want to let her know. But remember, she's suffered a lot in her life. Any wrong step, and you might lose her... or yourself."

He reminded me of my responsibility as the King, and I nodded in agreement.

Later, I visited my mother's chamber and noticed something unusual. I saw two silhouettes behind a curtain. I called out to my mother, and she rushed out, looking flustered.

I didn't ask her any more questions, but instead walked over to where she was talking to someone. However, there was no one there. I turned to her and asked, "Maasa, are you trying to hide something from me? Who was there?"

She shook her head and gave me a small smile. "Why would I hide something from you, beta? I was just telling Daasi about some medicines and food for Yashika."

I looked at my mother suspiciously, but I also knew that she would never do something deceitful, especially when it came to Yashika. So, I pushed the thought to the back of my mind.

Today, I felt like something was off about both my father and mother. They were behaving extremely unusually, as if they were trying to say something while hiding something at the same time. Maybe I was just overthinking things.

"Maasa," I held her hand and smiled. "Today, I'm going to tell Yashika everything – the truth and how much I love her." Maasa's face lit up with a big smile, and her eyes got teary.

She didn't say anything, instead, she engulfed me in a big hug and kissed my forehead.

YASHIKA' POV

When I woke up again, it was already past noon. I felt surprisingly good and relaxed.

Rubbing my eyes, I looked around, but as expected, there was no one in sight. However, I soon heard the rustling of curtains, and a woman walked in.
